This is a minor bug fix release for the Jolla Phone. Not too many fixes as many of us have been, or still are, on a well deserved summer break. And others have been busy on the production line, improving the final assembly and QA process, and all the things around actually getting the devices to your hands
And many others that can be found in the bug reports category. Thank you for all the detailed reports and discussion on those, which help in diagnosing the issues.
What is the max charging rate? Updated and I’m (still) only pulling in 5.4v at 2.1A on my PinePower at least. Plugging in to PD65W was actually slower. Mind, I am at 80% battery life (I don’t have the longevity settings enabled) so guessing it isn’t going to charge as quickly when it’s current capacity is what it is. I might have to let it drain over today and tomorrow to re-test.
Thank you for the update. Camera now works on Android apps, great! Also page scrolling in browser feels smoother, maybe it could be little bit faster aswell. Charging, no difference for me, it’s not charging when the phone is in use. Old dummy charger 5V 2.4A works.
I have it dev mode by default, it goes in dev mode and PC does recognize that I have the phone connected at least for a while ..and no re-plugging doesnt work.
and as mentioned older usb2 cables work just fine, its just the newer usb3 which I have this issue.
Wow, another Sailfish OS update! It feels like we’re back to the launch of the first Jolla Phone in 2013, when there was a new update almost every month. Now we’re getting bug fixes even faster. The sailors are at the helm, holding the course and navigating quickly toward their goal.
Your commitment and hard work are truly appreciated.
The update was fast and smooth.
The browser is smoother, as expected, but it’s still a bit sluggish on heavy websites. An ad blocker would help a lot, by the way.
The issue with the second SIM card not being recognized is now fixed.
Charging has also improved. One charger that wasn’t previously recognized now works properly. With another charger, the charging rate is still a bit low, but overall it’s much better.
In the next update, if possible, could you try adjusting the vibration motor settings? I’ve noticed that some people are a little bothered by the Jolla Phone’s vibration motor. Perhaps using a different vibration pattern would make it less uncomfortable for users.
Not necessarily the same problem as you, but I had a similar problem once. I just left the phone alone for hours (it was maybe 4-6 hours) thinking I would investigate further later. But when I came back, to my surprise the phone had downloaded the update, so I thought it must have just been some kind of glitch on their side or in the network routing.
