This thread will allow me to provide an update summary for all Volla devices in a single location. It does not need to replace individual device discussion threads, but will tie everything together.
I have a PT2, VP22/Rephone and a Volla Tablet. If the support for VT is like the VP, the Volla Tablet will be a nice SFOS tablet. And the tablet is nicer than the PT2. Nicer as in mote expensive and just better. Right now, the Volla OS is ok, but the Sketchbook app with the Pen is amazing. So a good waydroid support would be a great plus. Or a really good drawing native drawing app.
I do not know … i only ever did it from vos12 … but … if you were to try, I would really like to know if it works. There isnt really much risk, you can always re-flash it with ubports installer.
Though, i also dont want to be liable for any bricks!
have successfully flashed my volla phone 22/Rephone (Android 14) to Sailfish 5.0…
without any Problems
works better then mine sony xperia 10v…
Thanks mr.piggz

i am seriously considering getting a volla 22
is it possible to install Sailfish on the SD card?
and if so where is written the backup that is written on the Sd with a “normal” install?
Finally got to it. I had a GS5 with 4.5(actually 4.6?) installed an the zypper dub method worked well. There was one conflict:
File /usr/lib64/libKF5Archive.so.5
from install of
libkf5archive-5.75.0+git1-1.4.8.jolla.aarch64 (jolla)
conflicts with file from package
libKF5Archive5-5.34.0-1.1.1.jolla.aarch64 (@System)
But that looks like an upgrade
The video recording function is still borked on the GS5, but everything else works well.
The first few seconds are blank and then it stutters for 2 seconds. Then it records as you’d expect. I’ll see if I can get a log dump. Maybe it’s just a GS5 thing.
@piggz, I reflashed to make sure I had the latest android, going through the updates and only then flashed. To see if the camera issue was an underlying one. Now I’m stuck with a full system partition. I’ve forgotten how that is solved. I thought it was by deleting user data in recovery. That option seems to not be available. Factory reset? In any case, it looks like that user data problem?
EDIT: looks like factory reset in the volla recovery is just delete /data. Seems to work.
Sadly, camera is still borked.
EDIT, but OTHERWISE this is the best BEST release yet @piggz … everything is silky smooth on the rephone and GS5 …
