I just filed a bug report about this issue. If I’m not the only one experiencing it, there might actually be a problem. We’ll have to wait and see…

Thanks for pointing me to this bug report, will post my list of apps causing problems there!
During voice calls (without the hands-free speaker), the sound is very loud, even at the lowest volume.
I experienced it the same way with wonder that why 0% of volume doesn’t mean the total silence as it would be logical? Now there is no difference between 0% and 9% of volume level. They both are so loud that I need to take my phone little bit away from my ear so that I feel it comfortable and then I’m affraid that people right next to me might hear what my friend is talking to me in the other end of the phone line. 
I also wonder why volume adjustment is not smooth by single %-units but can be adjusted only by steps of 9%-units (9%, 18%. 27%, and so on…)?

I have posted a separated topic about screen lock set loop (number 5 point)
After a few days of testing common functions (telephone, SMS, mobile data, WLAN, bluetooth, audio/video, camera), I conclude that the phone is usable for daily use.
I have found shortcomings when using bluetooth:
- file transfer between X10III and X10IV devices (10IV - Lineage community port SFOS) does not work,
- BT connection in car Mazda 3 (2020) works only playing music from device, phone and contacts do not work (X10III with SFOS 4.6 and 5.1 works fine).

I agree. The early mentions of it made me think it was going to sound and feel like the kind of cheap buzzers you find in knockoff game controllers (that sound and feel like “BZZZT”), but it’s a perfectly normal motor. I will say it feels relatively soft, but not cheap.

I’ve been eagerly reading all of the posts in this thread, and especially those by people who’ve never used Sailfish before - it’s great to read that even to complete newcomers, it’s all pretty self-explanatory and it all works much, much better than anyone would expect from the words “Linux phone”.
My phone arrived yesterday and my own first thoughts, as someone who’s been using Sailfish since January of 2014, starting with the original Jolla Phone, using the Jolla Tablet for a couple of years as well, then switching to the Xperia 10 II, then the Jolla C2 (and then back to the Xperia 10 II), were that it feels just like the original Jolla Phone - it’s fast, it’s smooth, it’s solidly built, it just works™. It feels like a true return to form for Jolla and Sailfish not seen since the Phone-C-Tablet triad. You can feel they poured their hearts into it, and undoubtedly many hours of overtime as well, and it paid off. Congratulations, Jolla! May the future bring you smooth sailing.
A small touch that really impressed me is the SIM/SD card tray. It could not be engineered more efficiently.
The ringtones and associated message tones etc are also so good that I’ve decided to not keep my phone on mute for now. And considering the default setting for the privacy switch is to turn on silent mode, it’s not hard to mute it if I do get tired of the noise. Speaking of which, the ‘Dim homescreen on privacy mode’ setting is a nice touch that even translators didn’t know of yet. The privacy switch itself also feels sturdy, in case anyone thought it could be something flimsy. It really is a very nice device and one that, like the original phone, will hold up for many years to come.
Now I just need to get that patch working to speed up all animations…

I have been using the new phone from day one and I am really happy with it. I haven’t been using Sailfish since replacing the original Jolla phone in 2016 and to be honest I wasn’t expecting to use the new one as my daily driver because the increased dependence on all sorts of apps in today’s world. However I have been pleasantly surprised that everything I need including banking applications is working fine.
Overall using the phone is very satisfying, I guess partly because of how cool and smooth the UX is, partly because of the feeling of freedom when using an OS that doesn’t track me. However I have observed a couple of annoyances during these first weeks, some of which I have seen discussed earlier:
- Keyboard layouts keep switching between different layouts when typing normally. Would be nice if it was possible to disable the switch by swiping feature, but an actual fix would be even better since this feature is pretty useful with three keyboard layouts for three languages plus emojis. I haven’t found a way to disable this feature using a patch. This really hampers typing speed in itself when the accidental switching happens but also by unconsciously making me type slower to avoid the issue. I cannot really overstate how annoying this is. Typing this post has taken a lot longer than it should have because of the layout changing frequently. I even tested this with my original Jolla phone and the feature is there, but the issue of accidentally switching is not.
- Android apps crash when the app icon is changed while the app is running. This is annoying with Duolingo that uses dynamic app icons based on the mood of Duo the mascot. Whenever I don’t do my first daily lesson early in the morning, the app crashes upon completing the first lesson of the day that triggers a mood change. I haven’t found a way to disable this dynamic app icon in Duolingo settings either. This issue is even easier to reproduce with an an Android that that lets user change the app icon at will. E.g. the Vivaldi browser.
- Related to the above app icon change. Whenever the icon of an Android app changes, that app goes to the end of the list of apps in the app launcher. This is especially annoying with apps that change icons often and you would want to have in a folder in the app launcher. They will just pop out of the folder and go to the end of the main list of apps.
- With the default camera app, the interaction hints are shown no matter how many times I open the camera app. There is some issue with updating the FirstTimeUserCounter and luckily for this I found a workaround with a patch that manipulates the counters. These hints can be very useful for new apps so I haven’t considered disabling the interaction hints system feature as an option.
- The camera app also feels very unresponsive when taking photos which seems to be caused at least partly by the focusing being slow. Slow focusing also means that I cannot really on my Jolla phone to capture moments that I don’t want to miss. Unfortunately I don’t have any expertise to contribute to improve the app but I hope someone in the community does. The image quality overall is decent enough.
- This is very minor but still something to fix. When the battery level is under a certain threshold (can’t remember now was it 10% or 20%), the flashlight doesn’t turn on. I figured that this could have something to do with battery saving, but it is not visible in the UI anyhow. The button for the flashlight switches on but the flashlight itself does not.
- The phone is physically quite a bit larger than I would prefer. When taking photos or holding the phone with one hand, I find myself often scared of dropping it. After trying the original Jolla phone now after many years, it feels super small compared to phones nowadays, but at the same time I think the size of the original would be just perfect for me with the bezel size of this new one. I have a TV and a Linux PC for tasks that require a bigger screen. Would be lovely to have the option of a smaller variant for future models.

Doesn’t the UI show small leaf icon at the top left of the screen next to the battery charge percentage when the battery saving mode is on, or am I remembering it wrong?

This is a good point. I should have stated already in the original message that at least the battery saving feature that is visible in the UI was off and it doesn’t seem to even disable the flashlight like in this case. So this seems to be some other battery optimisation if related to the battery at all and not just a coincidence that happened twice with low battery.
I need to test again when battery gets below 20%, but might need to wait for that a little while. 
Don’t forget to make sure the flashlight is working at all now that you have enough juice in the battery, so you don’t blame a software bug or a strange SFOS feature on a possible hardware problem

I received the phone today. The hardware looks great!
After booting up the phone and restoring my settings from backup, I was not able to log in to the Jolla account anymore. The following workaround helped: SFOS 3.4 encryption jolla account - #10 by jovirkku .

I do know similar behaviour from my XA2.
Under 10% it cuts down CPU, that it is no more usable beside telephony?
And this has nothing to do or is affected by battery saving mode.
Got my phone yesterday! Boy am I surprised!
It’s working really well, snappy, and reliable. Framerate is smooth (albeit some glitching with lower light during scrolling for example in email client). Great job Jolla!
I was surprised by the wheight of the package And I had to fight a bit with the gorilla glass tool (took a while to understand the direction to put it on), but all in all, very easy and straightforward setup!
I love the Inari blue cover!
