REPRODUCIBILITY: 100%
OS VERSION: 5.2.0.16, Android 15 API 35
HARDWARE: JP2026
UI LANGUAGE: French
REGRESSION: Yes
DESCRIPTION:
When I launch a game in AAS, it seems to run for a few seconds, then freezes. The sound is not affected. (for exemple TWO DOTS)
PRECONDITIONS:
Have a JP2026 upgraded to 5.2.0.16. Haven’t tried it with the base version 5.2.0.11
Have AAS enabled
No Google account entered
No desire to enable MicroG services for this app
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- Enable AAS
- Install TWO DOTS from Aurora (this happens with other similar apps and some videos)
- Open the app
- Decline to log in via MicroG services
- Wait
EXPECTED RESULT:
After a few seconds with the loading screen, the interface should display a message indicating that it cannot connect to Google services, and then launch the game smoothly
ACTUAL RESULT:
After selecting “Decline to log in via MicroG services,” the app displays either a blank page or a wallpaper with the loading animation frozen.
Minimizing the app and then reopening it causes the animation to advance for a few seconds, then freeze again. Turning off the screen and then re-entering your lock code to return to the app also causes the animation to advance for a few seconds, then freeze again.
MODIFICATIONS:
Installed stores:
- F-Droid
- Aurora Store
- Storeman
- Jolla Store
- Chum GUI
- Patchmanager with Finer Volume Control, though this feature is not enabled
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This game worked perfectly on my X10III with AAS and version 5.0.0.76, Android 13 API 33. I didn’t want to install it on 5.1 because there wasn’t enough disk space, and the JP2026 was coming out very soon after that.
For the X10III, no Google account either, and MicroG services are also blocked. Downloaded from the same store, a slightly older version—26.26.
It’s possible this is due to the app itself, though I have my doubts about that, since other Android apps behave the same way.
No issues, however, with banking apps or browsers (though I did encounter a problem with a video, but I can’t remember the exact context anymore).
Link to the problem description—it seems I’m not the only one experiencing this
