I have a blocker for me to start using my Jolla 2026 as my primary phone. I have some Android apps that requires me to set a screen lock. MicroG also notifies me about finishing my setup.
On notifications I get announcement by MicroG saying “Action required, Your Google account needs additional setup”.
Then cliking that into the settings I’m in the “Finish setting up your Google account” view and “Configure secure screen lock”.
When clicking that, I’m in the “Security and privacy” view having “Device may be at risk” warning with “Set a screen lock” button.
When setting that by either PIN code or pattern, I get notified on lower screen that “Screen lock was already changed, try again with the new screen lock”.
However, trying new screen lock gives me same response.
I am in a loop with no way out with this issue. I can’t remove MicroG to reinstall it, since it says that it can’t be uninstalled
Could you, in the future, please either not answer, or answer with some example thread, instead of just with “this has been discussed before”? I understand your frustration about reading the same topics over and over, but this is an problem as old as internet forums as a whole.
I cannot count the amount of times I searched something, found a thread exactly about my issue, just to be greeted with “nah, this has been discussed before, do your research” …
Answers like that not only “punish” the one posting the repeated topic, but also complicate and prolong research for everyone else in the future.
This solution don’t work in my phone (J2). It doesn’t set the display lock and tells something like: “displaylock allready has ben changed. Try it with the new Disp…” (can’t read ahead).
Has someone with better skills than me tested this successfully on the J2?
