Bluetooth and Car Kit and Dual-SIM: calling (still) unreliable/random

REPRODUCIBILITY: 75% (often)
OSVERSION: 4.4.0.64
HARDWARE: Sony Xperia 10 III - xqbt52 - xqbt52 - 1.0.0.134 - aarch64
UI LANGUAGE: English (UK) (user: en_GB, os: en_GB.utf8)
REGRESSION: no

DESCRIPTION:

Calling and receiving calls while connected to a Car Kit is unstable. See also the links below for more context.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Have a DualSIM Phone and both SIMs active
  2. Pair with a Car Kit (HFP?)
  3. Make a call
  4. Receive a call

PRECONDITIONS:

I use 1 SIM for calls, the other for mobile data.

While the data sim can make and receive calls, no one recognizes the number when called.

Also, calls are more expensive with my plan.

EXPECTED RESULTS:

Calls should always go out, and come in through the SIM selected in the Settings as used for Calls.

ACTUAL RESULTS:

Often the wrong SIM is used for outgoing calls.

Incoming calls to the other SIM do not go through the car kit (ringing works, but after picking up the connection often is dropped).

Thank you for adding the context.

I’d like to make clear that this one is NOT about pairing, or Audio connections but purely about telephony.

There are lots of suggestions on this subject in that topic here Improve Dual-SIM support - #5 by lzbk
