Same here… Unfortunately I need this app today
Was a bad idea updating without having a backup (device).
Currently I am playing around trying to find a workaround.
[4.6.0.11] App Support, app grid - ING Banking App and others are killed (closed) after entering PIN
Hi,
Yes, Android apps are crashing everytime.
Here’s what I can see in the logs:

I’m not sure if there’s can be a workaround for that.
I tried a couple of apps like LinkedIn, Deepl, some Public transportation Apps (my tickets!) or Fennec that do not crash. So, for me it is so far only the ING Banking App that crashes (mostly)
I managed to start the App at least once and then install the app on another device.
- Rebooted the device
- Put device on flight mode
- activated WIFI
- Started ING app (that crashed)
- switched off flight mode
- The app opened by itself again and was working.
So seems similar to OOM issue…
Since you mention WiFi, what about this:
I have same problem with HomeCreditCZ app. If I turned off network, app is alive, but without connection it’s useless of course. Then I try hack from @amaretzek but I can’t see HomeCredit app in the list of apps for ‘Wifi control’ as he mentioned.
Strange side note: When I run the app from ssh with apkd-launcher de.ingdiba.bankingapp.apk de.ingdiba.bankingapp/com.ing.mobile.diba.startup.SplashActivity
, it works. Maybe that helps debugging.
This bug report is likely the same issue/duplicate Rowenta Robots (android app) stop working on 4.6.0.11
I can confirm that starting the ING Banking App from e.g. Aurora store is fine without problems. Same goes for starting the ING Banking App from the terminal with apkd-launcher de.ingdiba.bankingapp.apk de.ingdiba.bankingapp/com.ing.mobile.diba.startup.SplashActivity
.
Apparently, the problem is related to starting the App from the app grid only. Hopefuilly this can be fixed by Jolla before making 4.6 available to everyone (I suppose that is the raison d’etre for the Early access)
Not yet solved with 4.6.0.12
But it is still EA and the workarounds are easy. So I stay optimistic wrt the release to all
Had the same problem with the ING DiBa Banking App (with 4.6.0.12). Starting through terminal helped. But I tried to clear app cache and data first, so I have to setup my bank account again. I had to apply for an OTP from ING, which they are sending via postal service in about 2-3 days.
Should have looked in the forum first.
Hi, Same here on XA2 with 4.6.0.13 and BNP banking app.
Workaround works just fine.
After the upgrade to 4.6.0.13 (XA2 coming from 4.5.0.25), I also am affected by the same issue. At least it still works with aforementioned workarounds, but it nevertheless is a very annoying regression.
Since several Android Apps are affected (ING, Teams …) but not all of them (Citrix) but all Android apps can (almost) easily be launched from the terminal, I wonder why this problem is not solved.
For lauching an Android app from the terminal, one needs to enter
apkd-laucher, followed by what is found in /defaultuser/.local/share/applications/apkd_handler_com_TheSpecificAndroidApp
Since this workaaound may not be for everyone, it would be great if Jolla could solve the app-launching bug in order to offer the full potential of AppSupport. All Android apps should stay open when lauched from the app grid. I wonder why some apps are closing after launch when launched from the app grids but stay open when launched from the terminal. My wild guess is that this somehow is related to memory management because it “feels” like an OOM situation
I’m not familiar with Sailfish’s internal error message outputs, but could maybe “sfos_background_denied” be a hint why this problem exists?
Based on this I found a comfortable solution:
-
Install qCommand from OpenRepos: https://openrepos.net/content/coanteen/qcommand
-
In qCommand create a new command: For command and name enter the values you find in your apkd_launcher file.
-
In qCommand, long tap on the new created command, then select “Create launcher icon”. This creates a new file qCommand.autogen-*.desktop in ~/.local/share/application, with the asterisk for a one or two digit number.
-
Edit that file and replace value of Icon with the one you find in your original apkd_launcher file
Now you have a new launcher icon, that looks like the original one, and it’s working. Maybe, for the new icon tp display the correct image, you have to restart the start screen
Exactly the same bug on Mes Comptes (BNP) app.
The same problem occurs with the IKO app (PKOBP Bank in Poland). A workaround using apkd-launcher
from the terminal works well.
It is fixed in 4.6.0.15. The ING bank app can be opened and used normally.
