Sailfish OS update from Jolla

Fortnight newsletter again. A lot has happened since previous fortnight and a day late. This week Repository roundup takes well deserved break but we do have Harbour news by @vige.

We do have update from fair that we participated here in Stockholm during past days, yesterday we had a Community Meeting here in Stockholm (writing from Stockholm) and updates regarding Jolla Phone and Sailfish OS.

Swedish Public Safety market entry

:sweden: :finland: Digital sovereignty is becoming an increasingly important part also in civil preparedness and public safety. That is why we are partnering with CivSec AB to introduce Sailfish OS, and the Jolla Phone, to the Swedish public safety market. Together with the marvelous CivSec team we spent three days at the Totalförsvarsmässän in Stockholm Älvsjö.

Community Meeting Stockholm

Consider this as a Jolla Phone Roadshow event, first of a kind in the series printed in the T-Shirt. Sailors from the Jolla team were present, and questions and live discussion took place about the Jolla Phone and Sailfish OS. The event was open to everyone and no advance registration was required.

Thank you to everyone who joined the community meeting. We had good conversations, a lot of good fun and enjoyed the company. Thank you for coming, sharing your ideas and giving us feedback.

The event was very successful opening of the Roadshow series and The Flying Horse served us well! Special thanks belongs to everybody helping to organize  :heart_hands:.

Sailfish OS update

We published 5.2.0.20 as a bugfix release mainly addressing some of the issues found in the previous 5.2.0.18 release. Due to those issues we did not publish that release yet to the other devices like originally planned. Fingers crossed that we are good to go and publish 5.2.0.20 to all supported devices.

We had a plan to do a small update release for Jolla Phone during this week but busy week bite us. That said, a small interesting update for Jolla Phone coming up  :guitar: :drum:.

Compared to the previous version there are more clock styles and the usual bug fixes and performance improvements. Unfortunately the English translations are still missing.

Please feed us your news

This is a community update, and frankly we can’t always keep up with all the exciting stuff happening in the Sailfish community. Plus, the less of this we have to actually write ourselves the better. So please help us out by posting your Sailfish news updates to the forum as a reply to this post. We’ll collate as much of it as possible into one easily digestible post for the next update. This is your news!

Please do also join us at our community meetings on IRC, Matrix and Telegram. Next community meeting will be on the October 29.

This is huge! Great to see that Jolla is able to partner with different companies  And thanks for the newsletter!

One interesting thing I’m wondering, what is this TOH addition?

Is it even an addition? It looks like it is loose and not attached to the TOH at all - it is not parallel with the sides of the TOH.

Yeah, I also looked that it probably isn’t attached to it, but dunno

:eyes: Leave us guessing for a little while!
