Fiat - a new series of small apps :)

Hi!

I just wanted to mention a series of small apps, 4 released and some more coming up. I made them mostly for me, cause I either missed these functions, or just didn’t like how available ones worked or looked.

The apps are:

  1. fiat vox - a chromatic tuner. https://openrepos.net/content/munkstolen/fiat-vox-chromatic-tuner
  2. fiat agenda - a task list, clean, and can add events to calendar. It asks for calendar and privileges, so, if there’s an interest for the app with non of that, (it’s needed for the reminders and calendar function, let me know  https://openrepos.net/content/munkstolen/fiat-agenda-task-list
  3. fiat margo - just adds to a picture what ambience will later slice off, so the picture looks the way you expect. Like a wysiwyg for the picture, for ambiences. (does not create ambiences, just the pic). https://openrepos.net/content/munkstolen/fiat-margo-keeps-edges
  4. fiat mos - a habit tracker, this is the one I use every day, good habits maketh the man  https://openrepos.net/content/munkstolen/fiat-mos-habit-tracker

All of them are submitted to both chum and jolla harbour, and available on above mentioned open repos

All the code is on github, for those curious, links are available on open repos.

For anyone wondering: AI was used. I mainly work with databases during work. I know some java, python is used for analysis at work, and been writing webpages for 24 years. :stuck_out_tongue: So, I take help with claude. And I made them for me, though publishing them might be a kind gesture in case they are needed by someone else then me! My way of saying thanks

fiat is latin, not fabrica italiana automobili italiana.

fiat means let there be, as in fiat lux - let there be light.

the second word in the apps also have meaning in latin

Actually… I have Fiat 500. Dunno where ppl get the idea that’s always broken and not reliable. Mine’s been fine for 2,5 years and have not needed repairs.. Only the oil change and such periodic maintenance stuff. So far I have no bad say abt Fiat.. Earlier was toyota which also was OK, nothing to nag about.. -Over 25 characters-

This joke is really old. And one can create these about every car manufacturer. It just came to my mind. Dont take it seriously. :upside_down_face:

I like the latin naming. A creative way of naming.

In German we say here: FIAT = “Fehler In Allen Teilen” (Fault In All Parts).

fiat mos - let there be habits

fiat agenda - let there be the things to b done

fiat margo - let there be edge/margin

fiat vox - let there be voice/sound
