5.0.0.76 release highlights

AppSupport update

AppSupport is updated to Android version 13 now on all supported devices.

NOTE: If you have installed Google services in AppSupport, you need to uninstall those before updating.

MicroG is OK with the update, and does not require any changes.

Since the previous .73 release that was published only to Early Access users, we got the AppSupport 13 update tested also on the older 32bit devices, i.e. Xperia XA2 and 10.

So now all the supported devices will be on the same AppSupport version.

Bug fixes

And also including here the fixes that were already in .73 release, as that was not released to all users.

Known issues

Some things reported so far by the Early Access users

  • Possibly degraded video playback performance in Android apps on Xperia XA2 and 10
  • OneDrive backup might still be broken / other issues with OneDrive integration
  • The network signal strength might now report lower values than expected

Work in progress

Bluetooth in AppSupport

We communicated early January that we are working on enabling Bluetooth for Android apps in AppSupport.
There has been good progress, but it is not quite there yet. So unfortunately you still need wait for that a bit longer.

Exchange ActiveSync update

As you may know, Microsoft has ended support for clients using the older Exchange ActiveSync protocols, and the roll-out of that change may already have affected some of you.

Work on updating our account integration to EAS 16.1 protocol has gone well. But there are
still some issues, at least in the calendar synchronization, that we are trying to iron out.

So it did not make it yet to this release, but target is to have it out in a week or two.

Does this mean, there will be another minor-update or is 5.1 released very soon?

(ah, or simply that the Exchange-Support will be updated seperately?)

XA2 and Xperia 10 III updated without any issues. Thanks Jolla!

Download gets stucking first time at 25%, second time at abt. 12% (1/8 of the bar display), stucks for half an hour. So I have to abort for today, will retry later.

Still having very low strength indicated for SIM1 (which wasn’t the case before 5.0.0.72), on a X10 II

Works great. C2 and 10 iii. Thanks to Jolla

Yeah that’s a bummer, were there technical difficulties behind this decision? Not a word in the update details so feels even more sneaky, once the automatic search engine addition starts blocking yandex explicitly might be the breaking point, few finns should not decide where you get information from

The update for the C2 went smoothly. The XA2 required two attempts again, just like the last update.
Both devices were updated from version 5.0.0.73 to .76.

Not yet, the “Treat mobile data as WLAN” requires more work on the AppSupport integration side. Hopefully that is not too overwhelming amount of work and we get it to all supported devices eventually :crossed_fingers: . This feature may slip to 5.1 unfortunately.

Are microphones on 10IV now working as expected? What about standby battery drain?
