Voltage 4,9V is more than enough. Trouble is that you measure unloaded voltage. If power supply voltage doesn’t drop under 4,75V (the exact number goes even lower as there is step down regulator to 3,3V) under load should and do work nicely. IIRC the low voltage warning threshold on RasPi is 4,65V.
My understanding is modern RasPi power brick supplies 5V 3A, while your basic phone chargers only supplies 5V 1-2A, so they don’t give enough power for RasPi to work properly.
Tested right now with a modern Raspi 4 with the new USB-C power plug.
Works fine with standard USB power supply (‘Devia’) from corner mobile store and a ‘nothing special’ cable. The new generation of Raspis seem to be more advantaged as the old ones few years ago.
Upgraded from 4.6 to 5.0.0.62 on Xperia 10 III also without any problems so far.
To me, my 10 III seems to be faster than it was with 4.6.
To continue with pluses and minuses:
Pluses:
- MicroG seems to work a bit better with cloud messaging.
Minuses:
- Battery life seems a bit worse. (Checked with System Monitor and the power consumption is 2+ % per hour constant instead of the earlier 1-2% per hour.)
- Every now and then (several times a day) opening an Android application displaces an already open Android app on home screen. I don’t know if the already open application actually closes, but the cover is displaced. Does anyone else experience this?
Edit: Battery life returned back to “normal” when MicroG’s Google Cloud Messaging polling is set to manual (every 5 minutes).
Fixed my broken call function - it’s related to the Personal Ringtones app. User shults submitted a comment about it by 2/27 on OpenRepos. Apparently the app is known for this behavior for several years, although I didn’t face any problems throughout entire SFOS 4.
@Dickus51 I guess that won’t really help you? Reflashing should have removed the app (if you ever had it installed)…
I did install. the App immediately as I like to know who is calling Shall test again TNX
My guess is that it has to be more to it (Personal Ringtones). I don’t see this on SFOS 4 on X and XA2. No patches installed regarding SMS and Phone.
Unfortunately mx XA2 is currently broken, but also no problems with SFOS 4 on it.
If I dissengage sim 2 , sim 1 dies also, now calls go through for now, but messages goes only out not recieving, will test for a week and rapport back
Apparently not.
I just purchased a Power-only adapter, put that inline between my dumb (ie. not fast-charge) charging brick and the cable, and the phone still thinks that a USB connection is trying to be made, and still reboots.
Hmm, that’s strange.
i would check cable or connector in the phone. maybe it is not soldered well or some conductive parts are inside. on my old jolla-1 where connector was bad after ages it was asking about usb connectivity too. another cable did better connection for months then it stopper charging completely. the reboot thing sounds like perhaps short circuit on some pins while removing cable. but who knows it is voodoo magic
After reinstalling AAS and microG, I freshly installed MS Teams, but it’s not functioning correctly. When composing a message, the SFOS keyboard overlaps the message panel, and typing doesn’t input text into the app.
This is a long time bug, apparently not solved despite the bug report status.
I can add that me to, still got the same bug.
Xperia 10 II 5.0.0.62 lot of issues after the Update:
SMS not sending. retry butto apears but does not work. after restart sending works partially. after 2 or 3 sms thes ist info that sms is still in the sending procedure.
MMS did work, after MMS the SMS ist pending in the sending mode, although sms got delivered.
Calls are getting silent after 5-10 min after a cracking noise. That Bug is known from the past. it was gone but now it apears again. (German O2 Network-Drillisch)
Phone restarts randomly!
battery drainage is extreme especially when using android apps for example reddit app.
I have no patches installed. 4G is prefered in the settings.
activated Volte to chek if something gets better.
edit: for clarity volte was off when the issues occured.
I had on my Xperia 10II with version 5.0.0.62 more often a closed browser application as with 5.0.0.61. In the [Community meeting on 13th March 2025] was an oom killer mentioned. Could it be possible that there was also a change in the settings for that phone model? If the value was adjusted how can I go back to the values from 5.0.0.61? For reproduce open browser goto ebay.de and zoom into an picture of an offer and move it.
Indeed I also have more frequent browser crashes now…
X10II suffers greatly from lack of RAM memory. The only solution is to switch AAS and other running apps off. Another step is to change a phone. I would not expect any software solution.
My 10III has 6GB of RAM just like my XA2, and still the 32bit platform performs way more stable - not only browser.
