Jolla Phone update - deliveries started and other next steps

Just to clarify, you didn’t add the day1 event ticket in your cart, correct?

that would be nice to hear from @rainemak because i believe that real order number of the phone is related to the order with final payment as there could be added some accessories and that makes it as the real order for ‘order number’. the voucher sets price and batch but it is not order of the phone…

i have:
voucher #44xx, final #252xx
friend has:
voucher #47xx, final #176xx

voucher and final order numbers are not in sequence, they are of course related to each other but only @Jolla knows what number is used for shipping queue :))

They send according to preorder num.

This is a point I’m struggling with as well for the community shipping tracker.

I can’t imagine someone that pre-ordered first but paid last (of their batch) is getting their phone first. But maybe that is a lack of uhh imagination on my part.

As Raine has liked my edited post, as well as the one from @CLMA31 confirming to me that the initial downpayment preorder is the one being tracked … it’s pretty much that. If you were an early supporter on the crowdfunding, you get your device first. No matter when you actually paid the remaining balance to convert your preorder to a “full one”.

I’m also surprised by that, but lucky me. If i remember right, i was number 16 in the crowdfunding, and appreciate the shorter wait.

how do you know that?

A lovely update for us all. But when you say “concretely need”. Do I need to have a future project in mind to be eligible to get a fully working board?

I am not surprised but relieved. It wouldn’t make much sense if the preorder order number didn’t count for anything.

In my case it would be devastating. I ordered without VAT and therefore got my “finalize your payment”-mail after everyone in Batch 1-3.

There could be different reasons that one payed early or late after receiving the “finalize your payment”-mail and all the emails were not sent out at once. The thing that decided what batch you are in is when you pre-ordered the phone.

how do you determine which pre-order number you are?

I was Order #423x, but i don’t think my 5th Dec order was the 4000th+ (pre)order made…

There has been questions regarding the Snow White TOH. We should receive the Snow White TOHs next week from the supplier like noted in the original post. Meanwhile, those customers affect will get an extra Orange TOH and we’ll ship the Show Whites once we get them. There won’t be extra shipping costs for you.

My biggest concern, and why I was surprised, is just complexity. They need to follow the chain “Preorder → Voucher code → final payment” instead of just “sort by: oldest, containing device”.

I just looked at the order counter once I had paid and it was (if I remember right) at 16 then. My order number is also #423X, so you should be in the same region somewhere.

I guess the preorders start around 4200 - my order number being 4200+what the page said after i finished, and 4200 < X < 4230
My November voluntary subscription is 4036, so definitely after that.

Those who didn’t pay the finalization price probably got booted from the queue and this they don’t need to look at those.

Anyways, we have our answer and I am looking forward to receiving my phone. :slightly_smiling_face::tada:

i think it was 18 for me, but i suspect some update lag keeps that from being very precise.

This. And that. And even more.

Nothing more to be said.

Sorry about the delay, there is a 15 messages limit per day for new forum accounts and I was already responding to others.

The thing is I already bought in first batch (6th of December) and advertised it to others, so it is a bit hard for me to not buy now… Given the “speedy” responses from Jolla to emails, I think the device will before they reach my refund request email.

When you purchase stuff in ECOM site you are not expected to be checking FORUMS for updates about your order. You might be okay with being treated like a rock by a company you purchase stuff from, but I’m not.

Yet when the “final payment” email arrived it was known, rendering your statement invalid  While I know where you are coming from, I am tired by sloppy companies everywhere and people letting being mistreated. No hard feelings, I hope…?

The cherry on top thingy is this completely fuzzy and non-binding statement:

Read: “you bought AWD, but the seller once you paid says something like ‘the rear differential doesn’t work, but if you only drive on paved roads, it probably won’t matter’”. So as an early adopter I need to send emails (why not FORUMS, @Gunnson? ) that are known for being ignored/stuck in queue hoping that there will be a solution? It should have been fixed with a concrete declaration, something like “we will send you a replacement board if you need it (you will need to replace it yourself, here are the tutorials), but if you are OK with incomplete device you can get 50EUR store credit”. Not “if you want then maybe who knows we are not committing to anything”.
