Jolla Phone update - deliveries started and other next steps

I agree to disagree, then. Especially regarding the white backcover. You get your complete product, maybe even more (free orange backcover). Just not in one shipment.

You do you :slight_smile: I’m simply disappointed, but not surprised. Engineers usually do not do well outside of their field, especially when it comes to expectations management and communication.

Just to clarify, so those who purchased the white one will get the orange device for now and get the white later with no added charges.

What about those who purchased the orange and ordered the white. Will we get refund then?

Sounds to me like you were planning to start manufacturing very demanding TOHs immediately and also can’t afford to have a different color TOH for free before white is ready.
It’s understandable, so maybe the phone is not for you.
If I can offer a solution it would be to offer it for sale at MSRP here in the forum. I bet there will be hundreds of people that can’t care less about these things but want to get the device faster and off of your hands.

Thanks for the update, and thank you for updating us! I imagine they’re replying accordingly to the order number.

From what I understand: They will send you the phone in orange, and refund the additional orange backcover you purchased separately. Once the white one is ready, you’ll get that one send free of charge.

I get your point, it’s just that whatever could be huge issue for you might be completely irrelevant to me.
That’s why I suggested what I thought could be a solution to something you described as catastrophic from your perspective.

Not from my perspective, but from a neutral, sideline PoV. Especially if Jolla wants to expand and become a real alternative.

What a real big, professional company would do is silently change their page from i3c to i2c and then gaslight everyone it was always meant to be i2c.

Regarding the I3C. Is there a chance they might not send the mobile to me just yet? In other words, only dispatch it once the sub-board is available and has been fitted.

Regardless of whether I need the feature or not.

As soneone who has ordered both covers (all 3 colours in fact), I’m happy as long as i receive all 3. No need for a refund as i have incurred no loss.

In fact i may be able to buy a usb headset and battery just in time to take advantage of the free delivery!

As for the comment about having to read on the forum, what difference does it make?

As long as the communication is there, and by making a blog post it’s right at the top of the thread and easy to find in its own category, that is all that matters.

They are a small company with limited resources, larger companies wouldn’t have to ask for a preorder, and most of these issues would be ironed out before the product was even launched.

How did you accomplish this? My order still shows the wrong address.

For me, the open communication of Jolla rather gives reason to trust Jolla.

Apparently they are committed to quality. Otherwise, they could have ignored reduced functionality of the I3C interface and quality deficiencies of the white TOHs until some users complain (not a good approach). From my perspective, they are doing it the right way.

As someone asked before in this thread,

Will the phones be sent out according to the order number from pre order?

Some of us in Batch #1 who purchased without VAT are worried we will be put further back in line. I am around number 4800 on my pre-order but received my payment link very late because things needed to be handled manually.

I really hope I’ll receive my phone according to the original queue from pre-orders.
