I hope the ‘privacy’ switch can be configured to control the rotation lock. (That would be amazing, as software rotation lock is so annoying even on Android.)

The new phone has been very positive in all ways, hardware wise very good quality, feels good in the hand. Much better in any ways compared to C2, which was so big disappointment**.**
Battery is good, have been using the phone 24h almost non-stop with WLAN + 4G and battery still at ~30%.
Much faster phone than my previous SFOS Sony Xperia 10 III, also android apps works much better (Tesla app works now 100%). Everything is so smooth, even the new browser seems to work better wiht the sites I’m using, familylink site renders littel odd, but works faster.
Camera is fast, quality is okay, needs some colour calibration and more options. NIght time shots are fast best from my previous SFOS phones.

Some odd stablity issues with front camera, does not like when you switch between front and back, it causes the front stopping working totally.
One thing that causes full freeze of the UI, this happens when restoring backup from another SFOS phone. It’s the backup app that freezes, ssh works and when I kill backup software, UI sarts to work again. Problem seems to be with Gallery files, it always crashes in the same phase.
The display is very nice, again much better than C2 LCD screen, but when using privacy shield it get’s darker (which is the same with laptops etc.). Helps when rising the default brightness higher.
Phone calling is good and stable, audio quality is good on my side, but the other side complained about my microphone sound, that it is ‘echoing’.
Input lag from the touchscreen is way better than any other SFOS I have been using, typing on the screen is much easier.

I had someone complain about my sound. That was when I was still in Finland, and the phone wouldn’t register on VoLTE. Now back in Sweden and it did register with my home operator, so we’ll have to see if it was just whatever mystery roaming network I was on before.

I have not tested calling yet, was busy with getting to transfer contacts from my iPhone without cloud stuff. I did test the microphone with the audio recorder though and the recording sounded fine. So at least it does not appear to be a hardware issue.
Having a decent call experience on both sides would be important. I hope echo isn’t a general issue.

Déjà vu JP1, in so many aspects, enhanced with 8bit Atmosphere like on all my devices, so overall super pleased. Minor annoyances are no success with fingerprints (deeply missed with C2, so eager to get it back) and my volume-minus side of the rocker is next to impossible to get accepting presses, but I assume it will get better after some more rocker wiggles. (and no I have no cover getting in the way for any buttons)

I’ve had pretty good success with the fingerprint sensor. Have you tried going in and registering the same finger (or multiple) from different angles? Dunno if that’d help but maybe worth a shot

how does one find out when we would expect delivery? other than in very general batch terms…
is next month (august) a batch 2 thing?
I think nobody does know anything for sure, and this is a heap of speculation.
Wait for the newsletter announced for today, I guess there will be a sketch of the timeline for coming deliveries

Yes, I tried those tricks for three different fingers, but reached the timeout in all attempts before I even got anything coloured in many cases, but will continue the endeavour to get at least two fingers in during this train travel day. 
2000 Stumblefish updates later I now have two fingerprints registered. Yay. 
BTW before I forget it; having stared at the fingerprint reader location illustration which is shown before you add the first fingerprint, is affirmative and pleasing for me as a leftie, but since the reader is on the right hand side you should show the left hand middle finger on the right side not the left hand thumb on the left side.

Had strange issue with browser today (but I think I’m not 1st one to “complain” abt it). On one website (https://lequipe.fr), opening one article + scolling are fine, however going back to previous page ends up with frozen app. Closing/opening again NOK. Reboot or restart of home screen OK.
Tried few other websites (incl. Jolla shop) was ok but laggy. Acces to self hosted vaultwarden works, but it is easier to visualize in lanscape mode.
Cant really compare with my C2 since main browser freezes after few secs on ANY website…
Really happy with the camera so far

I’m curious to know which iPhone you had before switching to the J2, and what you think of it now. I’ve got an iPhone 11 – admittedly not the latest model – but you get used to how smoothly the iPhone runs very quickly.

I took the phone in use the very next day after received.
This surely was a next level experience from C2, without dissing that phone either. The initial setup was very straightforward and felt comfortable; even microg worked out of the box.
The display feels much more alive in terms of colors. And this display can be used with polarized sunglasses too. The speakers play sound more softly, and the calls sound balanced. Usage is smooth and pleasant, oh boy the fingerprint reader works fast.
I noticed that the browser also worked better, and was very capable of handling more complex websites. I’ve had only minor issues, but those are more related to my bank’s app or specific to moving a certain app from old phone to the new one. The battery lasts surprisingly well too!
I wanted to see if a certain wallet cover would work, even on some level, with this phone. I went to Power in Salo, Finland, and they were kindly ready even open some cover packages to test if it is a fit. There I found, a Ferrell wallet cover, originally made for Samsung S26 Ultra. With the silicone proctective sleeve, the cover works quite well with the phone. This I wanted to share this with the community, and I received no reward or discount in exchange to this, purely my own idea and free will to share the knowledge with the amazing community.

I still have the iPhone12 as sim card free local wifi backup. Yes, the JP2 it is substantially choppier in some cases, especially on the stock browser with heavy sites. It is not as noticable in other menus and such and on lighter sites though.
That said, the stock browser works substantially better than I feared in general but it is certainly having compatibility issues with some sites and some buttons from sites don’t feel very responsive or are entirely unresponsive. But Youtube and qobuz for example appear to be working just fine. Also fahrplan.oebb.at, a capable transit route finder (in Austria all modes I think, Europe wide probably at least for rail) works, a bit choppier but including the route map with live train view.
Of course, one could anytime use an android browser but I try to stay native for the moment at least. I don’t know if android browsers are smoother or if the issue is with Wayland for whatever reason.
