Jolla Phone Day1 celebration event July 8 6pm at Narinkkatori! - practical info & FAQ

JOLLA PHONE DAY1

Welcome to Helsinki, and welcome to the long awaited Jolla Phone Day1 celebrations at the legendary Narinkkatori!!

This is the day your Jolla Phone goes into your hands, and we get to do it together. We’ve looked forward to this as much as you have. None of it would exist without you, and we can’t wait to say thank you in person.

TL;DR: Wednesday 8 July, Kulttuurikasarmi, Helsinki. Doors at 18:00, though the fun might start a little before that.

This information concerns the ones who have the digital Jolla Phone Day1 celebration ticket ordered. The event takes place right next to the venue where the Jolla Phone launch event was back in November 27, 2013 – remember that long queue @ Narinkkatori. :sailboat:

BEFORE THE EVENT

While the doors formally open at 18:00 we can’t wait to see you there a bit early – let’s make the waiting fun and rewarding together (and ideas  welcome – leave comment below). Thus, we recommend to show up early, and you won’t be standing around: you’ll already be in the good part.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the event located?

The Jolla Phone Day1 celebration event takes place July 8 Helsinki downtown @ Kulttuurikasarmi.

Way: ‪Kulttuurikasarmi‬ (‪1224029693‬) | OpenStreetMap

What do I need to take with me?

You should have your identity card and your order id with you when entering to the event. If you have multiple orders, then you should have multiple order ids with you.

What to do with my luggages?

The venue itself do not really have room for luggages. It’s recommend to drop luggages for example to railway station (VR) luggage storage lockers that can be found in the station’s passenger service facilities or to your accommodation given that you’re staying over night.

Any quick tips / TLDR how Public Transport works?

The simplest way is to just use your contactless credit/debit card. Just get on the bus/tram/train, go to the ticket machine, select the zone, put your card to the reader and it’ll charge that. If a ticket inspector turns up, just show them your credit/debit card and their reader will be able to tell that you’ve bought a valid zone ticket.

In the city centre you can just buy ticket in “Zone AB” which will get you almost everywhere. There will be then message in the metro line atleast which warns you if you’re about to cross zones to C zone.

  • plus good amount discussion below.
Is there a way for us who missed out on the initial batch of tickets to this event to get one now or to get on a wait-list?

Tickets were offered for Batch #1, #2 and #3 aka first 10k.

Please drop us an email to shop@jolla.com (with Subject: JollaPhoneDay1 ticket) and we’ll mark you to the waiting list. Likely :crossed_fingers: there will be some seats as we’re getting occasional cancels from other community members. Once available, we will confirm your ticket in writing to you.

Let’s make it together a great & memorable day for as many as possible :heart_hands:

I just bought the air ticket and will be very happy to join. I am just wondering about the 18.90 EUR we got charged for shipping anyway … I guess we should have a couple of beers on you Jolla people

Maybe we can have a gathering at Helsinki city centre near or at Narinkkatori already before hand? Anyone?

Passport

Yeah that makes sense, cheers! See you all there!

My 18,90 EUR goes into the same place as my 4,90 monthly subscription to Jolla - to the success of Jolla Mobile Oy!

Is it of any idea to have a small “name plate” with forum name on it? …or is it totally dumb idea? :grimacing:

So what if I can’t now attend? Your email with event info was sent “no reply”.
Order No. 17954 - please now ship this to me together with the additional item and give my place to someone else.

Thanks

Hello, I’d like to give a message to those who are going to go. If possible, could you record a vlog? Yes, we will see many presentations during the live broadcast, but capturing many of the processes there, doing interviews, filming the environment and showing the atmosphere would really be great. :upside_down_face:

I gotta give up my seat too as I just realized my flight lands in HEL at 22:45 that day. Got the dates mixed up when planning several trips in a row  But hopefully that means someone else can enjoy the party and receive the phone sooner!
