On my future old phone (Zenfone max pro M1), which runs Ubport, I use Organic Map through Halium (see capture of this message: How to make the GPS work with a Jolla C2? - #42 by danield).
I’ve just installed OSM Scout Server/Pure Map on it.
In the same conditions, at this time of day and indoors, but close to a window as outdoors, no positioning on either phone. The photo below shows the case indoors.
Still on the Zenfone, I reinstalled uNav (which I like less than Organic Map), native gps app, and the result is that it positions me :
- inside and out
- online (wifi or LTE) or offline
For your information :
- I’m a farmer and gardener, so I spend most of my time outdoors,
- the C2 has already made a return trip to the after-sales service.
- that I’ve informed Jolla via Zendesk of all my problems, including this one
I may not yet have been accepted into this community and may not yet have the spirit, but you should know :
-
that I could have returned the phone and been reimbursed, as was offered to me
-
that I always try to understand and find solutions
-
that, as a general rule, I follow the advice I’m given.
Having said that, I hope you’ll allow me to ask questions about the device and/or the OS, as this is the first time I’ve encountered such difficulties with what I consider to be basic functions such as GPS positioning.
PS: I’ll see what I can do about the logs later.
