@aspergerguy can you please try with just GPS positioning (without mozilla services)? I still can’t get GPS working reliably even with GPS info, even after infinite waiting…
Here you are after fresh boot of phone indoors (without Mozilla services) took about 2 - 3 mins to acquire fix:
So what can we do? Is this a problem with OS 5.0.0.43, which doesn’t fully support the Jolla C2 hadware?
do these android utilities also work for Pure map and Jolla OS?
Definitely not.
I had installed it initially and then removed it. I redid the installation and rebooted the phone, without success for me unfortunately.
Don´t use the outdated “Positioning - Western Europe” package from the Jolla-Store (Last Updated 06.05.2021).
I using MLS Manager | OpenRepos.net — Community Repository System which contains newer Data from 26.03.2023.
I don’t understand why you guys bother with MLS at all? It’s obsolete! There’s a lot of links online.
I guess some Hardware-IDs of Cell-Towers doesn´t change much over time, so i think its not 100% useless.
Yea this has been a real pain-point on desktop Linux when all the geoclue providers have previously been MLS and it was dropped.
I had reinstalled when I looked at the last few posts. Reading you, I deleted it, especially as it didn’t solve my problem.
So GPS still doesn’t work at least for me & @danield but it seems to work for other C2 users… What is it then? HW issues?
I doubt for danield as his screenshot shows that GPS info does see satelites (as seen on bottom 0/6) but does not use them. That might do something with GPS manifest not transfered yet.
I noticed that GPS info does not show GPS status active/inactive properly. Just in case turn it on from the SFOS menu not the app.
Did you try to test HW with CSD tool. About five fast taps on version listed on About device or from CLI.

As in this message: How to make the GPS work with a Jolla C2? - #3 by danield ?
What can i do to make it is?
Might look like a stupid question, but it’s not actually… are you inside or outside when trying to get a position fix? Because I’ve never succeeded inside a house.
Inside a building not even “real” GPS-divices with really good reception get a fix easily.
