We have decided to support the variant XQ-DC72, too. It has two physical SIM slots, one of which can be used for a SIM card or an SD card. Our documents need an update. XQ-DC72 shares the code base with XQ-DC54 but requires a different configuration. We will create dedicated flashable images for these two variants.
XQ-DC54 has the eSIM, one physical SIM slot and an SD card slot. Unfortunately, Sailfish does not support the eSIM. Therefore, XQ-DC54 works as a single SIM phone.
Hooray, this is great to have this confirmation. Thanks so much.
Not 100% Sailfish related but may still be interesting to get some background information on eSIM:
If anybody is interested in technical specifications, please see the eSIM specifications for Consumer devices on the GSMA website:

Hi,
Is Sailfish OS for Sony Xperia 10 V going to be available in the Downloads any time soon. I keep checking and nothing. After the Sauna release, I thought maybe, but its still not there!?
Cheers
Dave
Why are you posting in the thread about eSIM, and not the one about Xperia 10 V?
The proper thread actually does have an answer.
Oh yes, somehow the forum page changed on my computer. I will try to find it again.
Good evening everyone,
any news about Sailfish and esim support?
I have an Xperia 1o IV, but Iām waiting to unlock the bootloader, I would like to know if Sailfish supports at least one esim.
Thanks.
Is there really no news?
Does anyone know anything, please?
Esim is not yet supported and there are no estimates/indications about when it will be supported.
Hello and thank you so much for answering me!
I understand, we will wait thenā¦
I stumbled about esim.me - a card that you can put in the normal slot - which then can somehow turn a ānormal phoneā into one esim ready.
This card is offered also for the xperia 10iii and the 10ii.
Has anyone tested this or experience with a card like that? At least for android this seem to work - and i got no clue if this would be restricted by sailfish as software.
Maybe this can be a small workaround.
I can imagine that these eSIM cards function like real SIM cards, so there shouldnāt be any problems. But, as always, someone needs to test and confirm this.
The main issue is to support eSIM in the OS in order to use the dual SIM phone functionality. Most of the new hardware offers a physical SIM slot and the 2nd one is an eSIM. The esim.me solution doesnāt solve this problem.
just tried and lpac seems to work fine. didnt compile at first but i threw the error into gemini and got a fix GitHub - tvall43/lpac: C-based eUICC LPA
tested on oneplus 6t with sfos 4.6.0.15 with a 9esim card in the first slot
What is the revision of 9esim? V3 or V2? Is additional card reader required?
v2. worked in the card slot, no reader required. run lpac with LPAC_APDU=gbinder_hidl
if youre compiling yourself, run cmake as cmake -DLPAC_WITH_APDU_PCSC=OFF -DLPAC_WITH_APDU_GBINDER=ON
Perhaps you can tell us more about how you use it with LPAC?
How to you write the esims into it? In SFOS or using Android?
Can dual esim (i.e. two esims in the 9esim) appear as dual sim in Sailfish?
9esim looks like something I can actually buy from Aliexpress, without any restrictions on rewrites etc.
BTW on AliX it says āV2 recommended for Android, V3 for iPhoneā
Certainly not.
Dual-sim is a misnomer - it should really be called dual-modem or dual-connection modem or something along those lines, but the terminology is adapted for normies that think a sim for a couple of cents is somehow the modem. Having access to more SIMs is the least of your problems for having two connections.
