One other thing came up, the charge level of the battery is not updated during runtime, requires a restart.
I think I read about this issue somewhere else already, but I do not remember where.
Btw, where is the official place to report about the bugs in a beta?
Plain putting it in “Bug reports” ?

You want to look here: https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/feedback-on-xperia-10-v
Concerning the license: just open a ticket in support. I got refunded as well.
I know Jolla is sorting out the mess with C2 right now, but is there anything new about full support of 10 V? Any chance for it to be released this year?
I’m asking cause my C2 has spining circle problem, like many.
My understanding is that Sony are holding things up.
I’m in the same boat, though have no desire to purchase a C2. If I had a camera on my 10 IV, I’d be all set.
We all wait for Sony to provide working blobs.
And agree, the V is an excellent device
The lack of camera is mildly annoying but acceptable, not having the actual battery charge is really straining though. Does anyone know if this also depends on the Sony blobs?
I really hope there is an update soon for that- or have there been any news I possibly missed?
Yes, it’s a kernel issue. /sys/class/power_supply/battery/capacity
is only updated on reboot.
Wohooo, appears that new binaries are on @ https://developer.sony.com/open-source/aosp-on-xperia-open-devices/downloads/software-binaries
did you try them?
as far as i can tell, it should be easy enough…
when i manage to downgrade my usb3 to usb2 i will give it a shot and report later
Do you know the good old USB hub trick?
i just go with setpci… worked…
battery status is updating.
reboot still needs ages
camera and fingerprint sensor still not working
but as a bonus sim card is not detected and wlan isnt working
so i’m reverting right now
took longer than expected to get the phone to the state with the blue star…
now after entering encryption pin there is only a black screen…
after re-reflashing the old binaries I got a working screen, but right now no modem…
wlan is working
edit
there where duplicated things like device descriptors etc.
rebooted again and now im back to “normal”
to summarise: JUST DON’T! (at least with your daily driver )
I suppose that means that the image alone is of little use yet…
The new binaries have been indeed released, but they introduced some changes that require corresponding changes on Sailfish OS side as well. Currently there’s little benefit in updating from v3a to v5a, and a moderate amount of inconvenience - modem (SIM), WLAN and Bluetooth don’t work at least (but the battery percentage does update already).
Stay tuned for updates
I would be glad to see new commercial images available this year, even someone from jolla mentioned it already, but although I really count on it I don’t see it’s possible. Jolla reporting limited resources on c2 problems so I don’t know how a claim of this year availability of new images is possible
But maybe this is simple&fast process to adapt new binaries?
I’m also waiting and really frustrated because my Xperia 10 V is just sitting idle. Maybe it’s time to look for another OS for my phone.
I agree on that.
With SFOS 1 we had an update every month and new features every 2 to 3 monhs.
With SFOS 2 we hat updates every 1 to 3 months and new features every 3 to 5 months.
That time SFOS was about to closing the gap to Android ane Apple.
Now we get an update every year. That update fixes some bugs and we have maybe 5 small updates and those are only fixing bugs of the bug fixing updates.
(just how I feel about it)
Where my colleagues can connect smartwatches, can see who rings the doorbell anrd so on, we have to wait that all cameras are work, that we can use e-SIM or to have a battery lasting a week in idle but we have a bug that drains the battery on days and we wait for a fix since years…
And hey Jolla, no matter how bad the financial situation is, updatimg the community costs nothing. Remember the slogan " people powered" and act accordingly!!!
Those were the times! Back then SFOS looked like a true alternative to Android.
