Hey@bruce_one i have a 10 iv xq-cc72 variant that i was tryinh to flash but I’m having issues editinhg the flash file properly. i thought i made all the correct changes but apparantly not. can you please provide me me with the proper steps that you used.
So, how did it go? What is the status of the Xperia 10 IV on Sailfish OS right now?
I tested couple of weeks ago with 10 V. Kind of works but too much troubles. Moved back to 10 II
It went well, it worked just as well as before the update to SFOS 5. (meaning with the blobs I used at the time I had no camera, battery indicator and fingerprint sensor)
I still have to try the newer blobs, but I would only gain a battery indicator. Using a phone without a fingerprint sensor is somewhat annoying.
Both the Xperia 10 IV and the Xperia 10 V are unusable as a daily driver and will be like that for the forseeable future (probably forever).
I must say, that the 10V has been an enjoyable (only) daily phone for me for the last year. So whats unusable to some, can be an excellent phone for others. I love it.
But do more things work for you than others? Or do you just not care? @juz This is mentioned in another thread as not working:
Hi @martinbook85,
That list is a very good summary. I think things aren’t getting better until someone from the community does a port based atop lineage rather than sony’s AOSP.
It is far from ideal, but I just wanted to point out that it is good enough for some (or at least 1 - being me) to use as their one and only phone. I did write a follow up post clarifying that I would love for it to be working better, but it was deleted in the thread clean up that occurred not long after following some slanging.
Let’s hope someone with the skills can take what Rinigus and Vlagged have done with the 1 and 5 IV and do it for the 10V.
Is it really a Sony’s AOSP problem or would a community port based on it make more progress then Jolla’s port?
Community port could be done over LineageOS which would allow to use (working) propriety blobs. Would free from chaos of AOSP. So at least in theory it should work much better.
