I hope this will change for the better for the Jolla J2 because you were able to manufacture it in Finland and have more control over it.
Sometimes I dream that I could join forces and help you with my hardware know-how, repairing smartphones since 2001. But then I realize I’m under a heavy workload at the company I’m working for and have nearly no free time besides family life.
At least it’s satisfying for me to follow this forum and all community meetings and try to help where my limited free time allows.
And many here know it: Anticipation (for the Jolla J2) is the greatest joy. That was already the case for me with the Jolla C2, and it’s even more so with the J2.
My gut feeling is telling me that if you consider this a problem (C2s arriving late from manufacturer to Jolla), then having dozens of small parts to arrive so that you can assemble the device might be more problematic in that regard
I interpret the reply from five days ago as meaning that Reeder haven’t sent the devices to Jolla yet. Obviously the level of communication is lacking (that has been a problem for a long time generally) but I don’t think it’s actually Jolla’s fault right now, they can’t ship phones that Reeder haven’t delivered to them.
If Jolla had the phones and weren’t doing anything with them, then that would be a different situation
I am obviously disappointed that there have been logistical issues that have led to delays (I ordered at the start of October 2025) but given the world is on fire, I am not surprised. Saying that, this forum thread seems to receive regular updates which is more than many vendors do. Fingers crossed the issues resolve themselves and I can leave the Android/iOS duolopy soon.
[Jolla has informed us of C2 shipment delays], just asking what is the current situation and if there is approximate timeline available?
Jolla’s response:
We have communicated to our manufacturing partner [Reeder] that our community is eagerly waiting for these [the C2 shipments]. You can be rest assured that we are pushing them. We have not received further updates from our manufacturing partner. What we know is that after production is ready it still takes time to get these babies to Finland due to customs and shipping etc.
In summary, no updates, but Jolla is pressing Reeder about it.
Though, this is indeed an update on the Jolla C2 phone, these are definitely “not good news”…
Reeder is the “goods” supplier and Jolla is the costumer… And “you don’t” leave your costumers unanswered, when the costumer asks a question regarding the goods to be supplied.
Can Jolla “dig deeper” on this matter?
Jolla probably doesn’t want to rock the boat too much publicly. It seems like they are saying, in a very diplomatic fashion, “Reeder haven’t returned our calls and are trying to stall”. Employees at Jolla are probably equally as annoyed as we are since Reeder has taken the money and is sitting on it. I hear they have a poor reputation at home in Turkey and that doesn’t hugely surprise me.
Considering this, I imagine the Jolla crew are already investigating their options to get things moving
That is very much the case and accurate analysis of the situation we have. Thank you for your comment @catonyourcomputer, and for all for the utmost patience in this very matter!
