My BankID survived the AAS update.
Just thought i’d share it for some peace of mind.
As far as banking and ID apps… Yes, on my Xperia 10 ii with 5.0.0.72, I’ve newly managed to install and use BankID, the Skandia app, Swish and Kivra - all from Aurora. I wanted to make sure before pre-ordering the Jolla2.
I’ve been on and off with SFOS since the original Jolla TOH, but now really feel that Europe needs an alternative. I’m looking forward to the J2 hardware!
Paypal does not launch, however. But that’s not a deal breaker.
BankID and Swish have always worked under AAS, so that’s nothing new. Paypal, on the other hand, is nothing but American spyware with a possible payment function, so you should just be grateful that it doesn’t launch. It shouldn’t even be a deal, let alone a deal breaker.
Paypal does work with the SailfishOS-Browser, no need to install fishy Android-Apps.
For sure nothing new on the sailfish side, but this was the first time BankID was insisting that I enable Bluetooth in order to continue. There was workaround, so that was great, but the landscape is ever-changing. If not for the workaround, Bluetooth could have been blocker.
With my degree in French literature , I generally feel underqualified to use SFOS.
So did you try to move BankID from one phone to another? Because that’s where me to is prompted for bluetooth.
That’s the one and only problem I’ve ever had with BankID and I’m (im)patiently waiting for the AAS bluetooth support to move my BankID from my slowly dying X10III to the new sailfish phone (X10V or JP2, which one will be first ready for daily use).
The BankID on my sfos phone expired. Then I got the BT situation when trying to install a new one. It turned out that in my banking app I could choose to use my PIN number to cirvumvent the BT check. That was Skandia. I think I read elsewhere here in the forum that Handelsbanken has a way too. The key for me was to talk to Skandia’s actual BankID support, which was very knowledgeable.
Whoow… I didn’t know that BankID on phone could be expired. Have to check that up. Thanks for the heads up.
