Fellow norwegian here. I just wanted to ask if you still are able to use bankid and vipps on Sailfish?
Running microG v.0.3.11.250932 and BankID v.7.45.0, I still do not have to allow microG position in the background or foreground. Just turn it of.
I have got a new problem though… BankID app refuses to fokus the login QR code on my bank site, with my back camera that is. Since a couple of days I have to shift to selfie camera to read bank’s QR code.
I have no idea what is wrong… ![]()
I don’t have microG installed but still sometimes have problems focusing qr-codes with my xperia 10iii, then ithelps changing the distance to the qr-code.
If you use dark mode in a browser and the qr-code is surrounded by a dark background then it’s often very hard to get the camera to focus and scan the qr-code, then i need to use my hand between the phone and the qr-code to get it to focus and then remove the hand and hope it scans the code.
The good thing is that it’s very few sites where the qr-code is surrounded by a dark background.
Thanks, but that’s not the problem at my side. Everything worked perfectly fine just some days ago, and it still works on other sites than my bank (Still ICA bank, but searching for something better that will actually accept my money.)
Swedish banks are a real problem these days. They don’t accept new clients outright… unless you are rich. For ordinary poor pensioners, they require recommendations.
I use länsförsäkringar bank and so far i am pleased with it, and their android app and web page works with sailfish without microG.
I too have issues scanning. But those are not new, but have been there always on the III. Usually zooming in in the browser helps.
Zero problems with BankID version 4.10.1, you may have to download Vivaldi (or another Android browser) to activate it though…
I have not touched it (except updates) / not gone through the setup phase lately.
The passport / national ID card scan thingy I have not used.
Have not tried Vipps, I found one thread where @Cato.S said it was working.
A quick question. Will Swedish Bank ID work in Sailfish OS in the near future? It feels like Jolla can’t be my primary phone as long as it doesn’t work. Or is there an alternative service that works? Freja ID works for some things, but doesn’t seem to work with my bank or when paying or transferring money with Swish, for example.
Please do search before post.
You can look here: Banking apps on Sailfish OS
Swedish bank-id should work currently as you can get Bluetooth to AAS side.
Bluetooth or not, Swedish BankID is working just fine… even without microG. There’s just a nag screen that you can ignore, or install microG.
Bluetooth have nothing to do with it.
Pulling this in to what i think is the main thread.
You alledgedly need either NFC or Bluetooth to add a new one to your phone nowadays.
(And some time you do add a new one or switch phone…)
It didn’t use to be the case, and maybe you can get some sort of exemption - but i wouldn’t hold my breath.
If you have workarounds - please share.
And of course all of this is security by obscurity, so nowhere will they tell you the rules upfront.
And since NFC isn’t yet redirectable to AAS (yet?) - Bluetooth is your option.
…and apparently both phones needs a GPS lock.
Well, you’re right about one thing. If you want to move one existing working BankID from one phone to another, then you’ll need Bluetooth or NFC. But what if you do not have an active BankID or if you’ve lost your phone, maybe it got stolen, what use is bluetooth then?
I’ve never tried, but I can give my left arm on that they would make you get a new passport or physical ID with NFC, to activate your BankID (which would not work on SFOS)… still no Bluetooth though.
All this said, me personally is waiting for AAS bluetooth support (from Jolla), so I can move on from my dying X10III to my X10V or JP2, whichever comes first. @Jolla It’s actually becoming critical.
And in the absence of NFC in AAS your only possibility of getting it then becomes to activate it somewhere else and then move it in. That’s where Bluetooth comes in.
Again, what if I do not have an active BankID or lost my last phone? Bluetooth is of no use! They would have to provide you QR-code like the they did, or stubbornly direct you to those fucking NFC options.
You don’t really think that they would invite you for bluetooth pairing, do you?
I mean i’d have to get/use another [Android] phone (with NFC) that is nominally mine - not theirs. Then i would activate there and transfer over.
Yes, that would be the tortuous work around that I would pay good money to avoid.
You tell me who to pay, and i’ll be right behind you.
Well, maybe Jolla would get their thumbs out an offer a valid X10V license? ![]()
