Please don’t! They might work for some ‘big’ languages, but definitely not for all.
I’ve started to update my Swedish one.
Could have been easier though, if I had a script or something to extract the sv files from the downloaded packet. Tok some time to manually remove the others.
The thing is, there have been lots of small strings untranslated for many languages for a looong time. So I’ve been considering some sort of update for those. But will still reconsider
In the meanwhile, I updated the beta version. Available here:
Now updating from old version & import / export should work. And also some other small issues were fixed. On the other hand, data from previous beta will be lost.
Didn’t test going back to previous app version from here. But if I remember correctly, shouldn’t be an issue since the data hasn’t really changed.
That hasn’t been touched indeed. I will have a look again, but not sure what to do. Situations basically just sets current ambience via dbus (com.jolla.ambienced). Perhaps something else could be done also…
I have two quite recent translations (Italian and Norwegian bokmål) for my Fast Chess application. I tested AI ability to translate my strings and it seems that about 50% of strings are translated similar way. I would recommend to use real translator if possible.
Actually, I built a new version that is now available here:
Updated Swedish translations, made a fix for ambience action - and added possibility to run command action as root (yet again new translation that is missing from the Swedish translations @eson).
@Pasik2 Can you please check if this fixes any ambience stuff between reboots - or if the problem is still there?
And all: As I now added a possibility to run command also as a root user, it basically gives anyone installing the daemon possibility to run commands as root from Situations app. So basically adds some sort of attack vector. Right now I can imagine someone importing application data from an untrusted source and that way the source can then execute arbitrary commands as root. So requires user action certainly. Anyway, I wonder if this is acceptable or not?
Thx, hhaveri. Run things as root is great for the aware ones. So I guess an unchecked config option for that is safer.
I’m pretty sure I’ll think of at least two uses for root mode.
BTW, I think Jolla mentioned the store wait time is now 4 weeks.
It seems that now the ambience and color change correctly after a reboots!
I noticed another thing, I use the “daylight” situation to open the Nightish application when the situation ends. The location update interval is 120 minutes. It seems that when I enable this situation, the gps keeps trying to get a location and after getting the location information, the gps still stays on. This was not the case in the previous version.
