CPU usage is to high. Constant 18-20% drains battery.

Of the update? There is nothing in the app that should be doing that → have you tried re-installing / re-booting? What conditions are you using? Anyone else noticed such CPU usage?

Br,
Heikki

Not sure if update or beta versions. I have reinstalled and rebooted several times, no change. Conditions are nothing fancy, time and active wifi or active bt.

I see just occasional <1% usage. Once it jumped to 50% for a second - not sure what was happening there. But certainly no constant 18-20%. So a bit difficult to tell where that comes from

Br,
Heikki

I can reproduce. Fresh install and one rule with Wifi state ON and Wifi network even without “WHAT” gives 13-18% in X10II.

On my Sony Xperia 10 III SFOS5 I have only 0,1% CPU using with the version 318.

I restarted the phone 3 times, maybe it is the solution?

For me as old men  with 56 years at the watch are the fonts al littke bit too small. Cloud you make it bigger or create an option in settings please? I use extra large in SFOS and see my screenshots:

A second Info is, that the dots for activate not react because the I have to touch at the text. Normaly in SFOS the dots are at beginning and the use have to touch on it.

The rest is perfekt and maybe you can add some usefull commands under help. I had sent you some codes per email last year and here are also some examples.

Many Thanks for your work!!!

Have you tried the rule above?

Thanks, I’ll try to make them follow system font size better.

I have made a library that mostly emulates Qt Quick Controls 2 but with some Sailfish look - so that differences between the Android (latest Qt) & Sailfish (ancient Qt) versions in UI code would be minimal. That’s why for example check box / switch delegates look like that. I’ll try to make touching the dot also work better.

I tested it now, but only if I not close the situations app are the cpu using over 6% but in a separate line in crest. Is my test right - see the screenshots.

Now I tested it again because I had forgotten to switch on WIFI. And yes with WLAN On and the roule searching special WLAN accesspoint I have also over 9% cpu. But I do not use this function. Maybe the time interval is too low for this searching…

Here are the other chat with many comands maybe for your help page in Situations…

@hhaveri would be fine to add 5G into Mobile Network <3

And some side question.. is it possible that after “re-installation” 316 to 318 version is still showing 316 in “About” menu?

Thanks, will look into it!

I suppose yes. Currently the version shown on UI depends on running qmake that updates the project based on some manually changed files. So might be that something didn’t update correctly when that version was built.

Still not seeing it myself. Perhaps it is related to network conditions or something…

Hello,

New beta available here:

  • Updated font scaling to better follow system font size
    • It now checks Active default (medium) font size against the base line and uses that ratio for all fonts in Situations.
  • Fixed Check Box / Switch indicator events (tapping on the dot should also work now)
    • There was a bug trying to direct the events to wrong item
    • Long pressing items is still an issue though…
  • Added experimental support for 5G in Mobile network plugin
    • My Xperia 10 seems to be 4G only, so current implementation is largely just guessing. @tom.i Please provide feedback whether this guess works or not.
  • Added support for user created ambiences in Ambience plugin
    • As a root process, Situations has access to the actual ambience database where user ambiences are stored. So using that if possible,

Everything above is great but this one is the greatest for me.

Thanks for the effort hhaveri!

What are the chances to get this done in the new version?

Unlikely to happen as such, sorry. But the update doesn’t anymore strictly require the background process to be root, i.e. situations-daemon to be installed - you can just ignore it. The app will still nag about it though since many functionalities won’t work without.
