I would be willing to support Jolla like that, but on the other hand I would expect a few things:
- Better communication, especially Roadmap!!!
- Some kind of wishlist/voting system for implementing or repair of missing and/or brocken features
- Cleaning up all that small things in the very near future:
-
- Fasten the UI like already shown up by @Seven.of.nine @Seven.of.nine (Speed up a device by system tweaks in the qml files)
- Better GPS handling (especially for Geotagging of Photos), if GPS is turned on the device should always know where it is or at least remember it’s last position instead of always start a new location detection
- Implementing standard features that SFOS still doesn’t offer so far:
-
- Device location service (for example native support for Nextcloud Phone Track)
- Tasks app (to be synced with via CalDAV, Nextcloud,…)
- Notes sync (via WebDAV, Nextcloud, or IMAP similar to the way Apple Notes work)
- RCS Support for Messages
So in short: I expect something in return when I’ll invest further money in SFOS - and to be honest everything of the things I listed above is an industrial standard for mobile phones. If Jolla really wants to try to compete especially with the big two system those features would be a (strongly needed!) catch up to standards.
