Hoping for the best, and looking forward to hearing from you. I see on other forums that oddly enough the 10 IV got a firmware update that added the AUNZ mcfg-sw.mbn files. This hasn’t happened for 10V.
Just installed Sailfish 4.6.0.15 onto my Xperia 10 V XQ-DC54 and the call went through with no issues.
Prior to the install I let android update to the latest release (68.1.A.2.204) and ran all the suggested tests in the Sailfish update guide. 4G was working with android.
Currently with Amaysim (Optus).

This is great to hear that things are working for you. Thanks for taking the time to update everyone. I assume you must have a sim on the vodafone or optus network?
My Xperia X, got kicked off the network this morning. So when I get home I’ll be getting out my 10V. My Telstra MVNO sim won’t work though I am pretty sure. It wasn’t registering on the VoLTE network on the weekend on Telstra. I’ll stop on the way home and get a new sim. Would you mind sharing which network you are working on? I’ll try and duplicate your experience.

Just be carefull, as amaysim have finally said why they are blocking via an email, it’s due to not supporting emergancy call over 4g, now with a new law stating that should a phonr not support/register 000 emergancy over 4g block it from calls and data if it’s got a local sim in it. My 10III is still active, but waiting for it to get kicked.
As sailfish does not support emergancy over 4g yet.
Oh that’s a bit dissapointing. I did pick up an Amaysim on the way home. The 10V is successfully making VoLTE calls. It will be sad if it get’s banned.

It looks like some networks will block devices on 1/11/24 not 28/10/24 as I previously thought.
Conflicting sources (3498, AMTA and Telstra’s Blocked Devices Checker) indicate my phone will or won’t continue to work. It’s still clear as mud, I’m afraid.
Sounds like we’ll just have to play it by ear and see what happens next month…

I too have just installed SFOS with an Amaysim sim card in my XQ-CC72. Calls are working, though for how long I cannot say…
I feel like my hands are dirty, having to use a common phone, now that my 10III has been blocked. This sent from my 10III on wifi
I received a slightly different notification from Vodafone today:
“Urgent 3G shutdown notice about your device
Your manufacturer has recently advised us that your device may not be able to make calls to emergency services once all 3G networks are closed. We are advising that your device will be blocked on our network from 1st November 2024.”
So Sony notified Vodafone that the Xperia 10 ii does not support 4G emergency calls? It sounds like my phone will become a tablet by tomorrow.
I still haven’t received anything from Amaysim. No emails, texts, warnings when making calls, etc. All quiet on the western front. Phone is working fine.
I’m so confused, but not complaining.
Real democracy in Australia. After putting people in house arrest during covid or not allowing their own citizens to return to the country, now the government is telling you which phones you should use. Nice!!!

Just been disconnected from my Xperia 10 V. Good bye SFOS, it’s been a fun 10 years. J1, Xperia X, Pro1, Pro1X and briefly the 10 V.
I did a bit of research last night and the 10 V falls back to GSM when no Sim Card is present for the emergency calls. This information is hard to find about phones. It generally is hardwired into a phone to bypass the need of a Sim card for emergency calls.
In regards to when you’ll be cutoff, MVNO’s have between 28 to 35 days from initial message stating your phone is not supported to disconnect you. This is in the legislation.
Hoping one day I’ll be able to return. Goodbye.

Started with a J1 supported the failed tablet, then X, XA2+ lastly 10III
Hopefully they can sort out the C2 for both VoLTE and emergency over 4G, IE E000 for us.
I’m wanting to switch back.
What a pity, a new legislation created in good faith for Kaizen (change to better) but with disastrous effects on niche solutions.
Reading about your new realities form Europe, I wish there would be something to support you and that one would be able to clearly show the responsible law investors what their law means for advanced mobile Linux device that can be an alternative to this US duopoly.
Really a pity to see you being locked out (obviously) without any way out of this.

Either generic copy/paste from Vodafone. Or they reached out to Sony who confirmed specs to them. I doubt Sony pre-emptively got hold of Voda and told them.
Absolute shitshow. And now the networks have an effective stranglehold on the handset market. And none of them offer any smart OS other than the main two.
So am I to assume all X10 III users in Aus are now blocked?
I can’t comment on that, but I can confirm the X10 IV is still working, and there’s no indication that will change any time soon.
Can confirm my X10 III is blocked.
