Does reboot help? I suspect that might be one random service issue. Might be worth trying if restarting only mission-control-5 systemd service helps (systemctl --user restart mission-control-5).
service restart fixed the issue
not sure if this is device or os (or cable?) related, but after connecting a ps3 controller via usb otg, phone thinks its charging (which is somewhat strange), but even after disconnect device still shows charging
Ok, I’ll see what I can find in logs, I happen to have same controller so I can check it myself.
Is somebody able to test the esim manager SimPro from Openrepos with Fairphone with integrated esim chip?
I installed it and it’s looking promising.
At the moment I’m away from my phone that’s why I’m asking.
Got me curious what device is @anarchy_in_the_uk using
Hi, I still had to do a `fastboot flashing unlock` on the commandline after following the bootloader unlock instructions on the Fairphone website (for a FP5).
After booting into fastboot after enabling OEM Unlock it said “Device state: locked”.
Besides that flashing was smooth.
Sony Xperia 10 III + 9eSIM card
Have you (or someone else) been able to test SimPro it with an integrated eSIM chip?
I only have been able to test it with a 9eSIM card so far.
Thanks. It didnt work before but now with 0.7 version my eUICC card is recognized.
I am using the xperia 5 IV port and was hoping to enable native eSIM, so this gives me hope. Great work!
I tried to use firsty with SimPro on my Fairphone 4 but it said “No reader device found”.
With SimPro I get on my FP5 this output:
I don’t have an eSIM yet and it seems that the internal chip is detected.
I want to know if it’s worth to try and how I can get an eSIM …
SimPro is quite new. I bet you are the first person who wants to try it. So nobody or nearly nobody can answer you question but for the community it would be nice if you try it ![]()
You could try this one:
SM-DP+ Address: rsp.truphone.com
Activation Code: QR-G-5C-1LS-1W1Z9P7
It will not allow you to connect to a network but we should at least see if it loads into the eUICC and maybe even if it shows up in Sailfish after a reboot.
I bought my test eSIM from here for 2.50 (1GB, 30 days), and I was actually able to connect to a network and use data:
At the moment, there is no possibility of putting the Lpac of Sailfish (the backend that SimPro uses) with the Android support, so when you give it to install eSIM in firsty, you have to give it to the manual option to manually enter data with SimPro and set the alias.
Yes when I tried it, I entered SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code manually.
I guess with alias you mean what is called nickname in the app?
Yes, that’s the nickname. Try it and see if it detects it. In my case, with my 9eSIM SIM card, I had to use an Android device for the Firsty app to detect the eSIM that was already installed, but of course, that’s not possible when it’s installed on the mobile’s eSIM chip.
Yes, I already tried it with firsty.
Now I tried again with the code from here: Sailfish OS for Fairphones devices - #339 by cypherpunks
After a few seconds of the loading spinner this is the result:
Click the Download eSIM?
I just bought a 0.99 esim activation code and it worked on my physical sim e-Sim, thanks @cypherpunks ![]()
Unfortunately the lineage base I am using on Xperia 5 IV does not yet support the internal eSIM, so I need more time (and help from android rom cookers) to see if it’ll work.
