Sailfish OS for Fairphones devices

I’m logged in to the store but there is no app

Generic getting-started stuff is also off topic for this thread. There are several threads and help articles on this.
e.g. Jolla Store | Sailfish OS Documentation

This is not comprehensible.

So you don’t see the Store app in app grid in home screen?

The email icon is missing. I reloaded the system and the email icon and app store are missing.

Sorry for the spelling errors, I’m using a translator.

Are the other app icons still visible and only those two are missing?

can you open the app grid and make a screenshot? (screenshot button can be enabled in the settings where you configure the toggles)

I’ll take screenshots and post them here

Now I will install the system again

dont reinstall, probably not needed
first open terminal (or connect via ssh from pc) and enter:
devel-su zypper ref
devel-su zypper up

(set ssh password in settings > developer settings)

I’m already installing

if you still dont see the jolla icon after reinstall maybe post a screenshot

After reinstalling, the app store and email are working. Thank you, I’m now testing the new system.

So, finally my Fairphone 4 is running latest SailfishOS (and with a direct upgrade from /e/OS).

Only problem I have ran in to is wi-fi at work - we use Eduroam and I have an accesspoint just outside the office, but get the error message Network out of reach after authenticating. Getting wi-fi from my iPhone is working flawlessly. Fingerprint is also there

I have not tried it with my main SIM card yet and placed a phone call.

@mal First of all, thank you for providing SFOS for Fairphones.

I installed your latest image two days ago. I have so far only ran in to one problem on my Fairphone 4: Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi work with WPA personal (both at home and shared connection from my iPhone). But we use Eduroam at the university where I work with PEAP-MS-CHAPv2. I see the network, network settings come up correctly with authentication. When I write in username and password and press connect, I only get network out of reach. I sit max 4 meters from the accesspoint.

mabe you need to configure manually, see this thread (and the links):
https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/using-easyroam-with-sailfish-former-eduroam/15868/5

also maybe check arch wiki regarding eduroam, usually it has useful information

Thanks for the info.

Why should I need to do that?

What is it that Jolla has included in their Sony images (works out of the box with my Xperia X) that the Fairphone images don’t have?

didnt know you have another sailfish phone where it works, maybe check if the sony device has an additional connman package
An maybe check the config files of the wifi if there is a difference

@mal Do you still plan to provide updates for the Fairphone 2 or not ?

Sending SMS stopped working at all, no matter if volte calling is enabled or not
