10III update went smoothly and everything (wanted to test Audioworks seems fine, but for puremaps
On my X10III SMS is not working with O2 in Germany.
Just upgraded my 10iii and it went fine. Pure Maps loads, but then if you try to do anything it simply crashes.
But Pure maps does work on my 32 bit XA2 Plus on 5.0.0.55
On my test device (Xperia 10 II) the update to Tampella removed the OSM Scout Server installation. May be that explains why some users have trouble with Pure Maps.
Possibly some incompatibility again?
Not working here. But its working on C2 in VoLTE. So seems, they made something. But C2 uses also newer LTE Stack, while 10 II / 10 III still uses the old…
@Steve_Everett @poetaster Puremaps on 5.x: Disable LTE and WiFi, start puremaps and change profile to Offline or Mixed. And MAP Source to OSM Scout. Than it should work
Yes, I got that, but that’s not the point. It segfaults. It. Should. Not. do a segmentation fault. That’s not good. Anyway I can’t use the service I’ve set up (mapbox) which has worked flawlessly for years. So, something is really borked. Probably just a change in a library that sfos provides but that requires some work.
Sony 10v to 5.0.0.55 version from 4.6.0.15 using normal desktop update routine. First try went through process ok.But after last boot desktop settings show old Sauna 4.6.0.15. Well, 2nd try , progress&update ok and, phone, sms, wlan work ok
I’ve only ever used Pure Maps with OSM Scout Server and offline maps. And in this configuration Pure Maps will load, and if you don’t touch it it will even show you where you are when a satellite lock has been achieved. But as soon as you touch it (try to click on search or menu or whatever) it instantly freezes and then a few seconds later, crashes.
Receiving SMS is working, but sending.
Did your OSM Scout Server installation survive the SFOS upgrade?
Yep, still there and seemingly functional.
yes, exact what i have
Short Follow-Up: update on Xperia X II went through as well. Had to start it twice, as after the first start it only rebooted and nothing was updated. On 2nd start it updated and everything was fine afterwards. Don’t know if I missed some message about reboot needed?
Thank you. Good points listed. Had received my C2 in Dec. As of now ofono logs appear as clean, I’ll keep an eye on this
Same here on a 10 V, first update try and reboot after downloading did not update, only reboot.
With second try reboot and then upgrade to .55 worked flawless then
IIRC it always wanted at least 50% battery.
No, 4.6.0
is a “stop release”: IIRC you can upgrade from any version of a “stop release” to the next release (at least this is how it was in the past), though @jovirkku explicitly stated otherwise for 4.6.0
→5.0.0
using the GUI updater.
Technically there is no reason why one should first install the last version of a “stop release” before upgrading to the next release; but do not omit installing any version of each “stop release” in an upgrade path, or your SailfishOS installation will be harmed (i.e. needs to be reflashed).
updated my Xperia10II from terminal (via ssh) OSM Scout server v3.1.0-1.8.1.jolla was not removed, PureMaps v3.3.0-1 (offline maps) works without any change, both installed via Chum
btw: everything works fine like on previous version (4G, VoLTE, bt, wifi, sms …)
