[Release notes] Tampella 5.0.0.29 for Jolla C2

KPN plans to abolish 3G in December.

That works ! The repository refresh doesn’t though :-/

But SMSes don’t work properly. Do they for you ? And perhaps you don’t need any of the Android apps that don’t work, i.e. some banking applications (?).

Finnish company and I think Finland has decided to shutdown for a long time ago 3G network.

That makes a difference indeed.
I also saw that Qwant is added to the list of search engines. Thanks to Jolla !

Nowhere on the store page does it say anything about Beta stages

Good idea! I’m sure it will develop and mature. Enjoy!

Okay sorry guys, I feel like a bit of a wally all of a sudden. Got the OTA update to work earlier after clearing some space. But now Sailfish isn’t recognising sim card slots at all and I’m just over here scratching my head.

You need to put 4.6.0.15 in settings, no 5.0 repositories yet on chum

Was the vibration on boot introduced in this update? I haven’t noticed it before. If it is new, I wonder what the reason for this change was.

The thing with the root partition size is something new? Someone at the Jolla must decided to set the size the way it is not so long ago. Why suddenly we have to increase it?

Because sometimes it’s too small?

Ok, but its almost brand new` OS. It was big enough two months ago and today is too small?

I’m a bit confused about the increased root size - should I continue to set up my C2 or will I have to eventually reflash it anyway because future releases might rely on the increased root partition?
In the latter case I would rather wait for reflash instructions instead of wasting time installing and tweaking stuff.

Just enjoy it as is, and when times come, reflash it.

No, has been there from the beginning, also the vibration feedback when you enter the security code. This still happens even if vibration is turned of in settings. (Xperia 10 III stays silent…)

It seems that my network is configured properly. As I leaved the preferred 4G so mobile data is fast but the call is properly switched to 2.5G (no 3G for months).

SMS works great as always. There is one nasty bug about that when ofono service can’t run if there is an unsent message in the queue but there is a workaround.

Andy apps: after all those SFOS years I finally installed the first one which works surprisingly well. Apart from the fact that only on WiFi for now. I doubt that I’ll soon install any banking app as I have no need and I don’t like to use them. I have tablet for that purpose anyway.

That happens to me sometimes. I try Flight mode, Network restart and in the end phone restart. If it still doesn’t work, check ofono service if it runs properly.

They probably had much more urgent staff to do.
