Hi! Fairly new to the ecosystem, what is the official way to download android apps since the aurora store is unofficial and visiting the play store via the browser makes it think i am on an philips smart tv? Am i missing something this seems way to complicated to download apps, aurora seems very unstable, it crashes with 30% of the apps, i cannot get critical apps (ex. banking) to work with aurora.
There is no “official” way to download Android apps. F-Droid hosts a lot of great open source apps, for the rest of the Android world, there is Aurora Store which downloads directly from Google Play.
What do you mean with “it crashes with 30% of the apps”? What happens? Can you just not install them or do they not work after installation. For banking apps, it can be hit or miss on SailfishOS. You can download them from Aurora Store and check here if they will work/not work/require some extra steps to work.
The list seems to indicate that my banking app works eventhough when i download it via aurora and press the app icon it flashes the bank logo and crashes, it does this with alot of apps, it tries to open and crashes within 1 sec, ive tried to find a way to factory reset the phone but there seems to be no easy way to do this?
Did you install MicroG?
I have not, i do not know how, i would appreciate the help though
There is always a reflash option.
Perhaps try following these instructions?
That sounds like something is wrong with Android AppSupport maybe? Have you tried rebooting your phone or restarting AppSupport?
You could also try to just reinstall Android AppSupport, maybe that fixes the problem
Can know someone when will be available the possibility to install Android app on SFOS on Xperia 10 IV?
Should be possible by now: Enabling AppSupport for Sony Xperia 10 IV and 10 V
