That’s exactly what he just said, dude
Okay, I see, that was literally the same minute
I know you dislike for Sony devices. But have you thought about up-porting XA2? I know it is oldish (2018), but quite popular and has a modern LineageOS port, which perhaps could be a better base than Sony’s Android 8/9.
It would be really cool to have VoLTE on the XA2.
xa2 already has port no? official even
and no, i won’t ever touch xpooria
It is better to transplant one plus 13 directly, because 13 has a full-featured USB 3.0 interface, supports dp video output protocol, and can be externally connected with large-screen devices such as monitors, televisions or projectors. It will be more comfortable to output mobile phone pictures to these large-screen devices for use and viewing. USB 3.0 video output is important. Also, the configuration of Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition chip is high, and it can be used for several more years on such equipment as sailfish os transplantation
no it’s not. It’s way too big.
supports dp video output protocol
oh great, feature that is not supported by sfos, what are you gonna do with it?
and can be externally connected with large-screen devices such as monitors
no it can’t
it’s literally not supported
“high”
brother people are using snapdragon 400 TO THIS DAY with my moto g2 port. SFOS doesn’t need high end chipset
If you want to run Android apps that support running Android programs faster, smoother, not jammed, not slow, you need a better processor. Now, don’t say Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, that is, Qualcomm Snapdragon 778g and MediaTek Tianyi 1200 can’t run smoothly, and they dare not say no jamming. A high configuration processor is necessary. No one wants to spend a high price to buy a machine with a low configuration processor. It doesn’t take two years to use it and start jamming and slow down
…that’s the thing. I do not want to run android apps, just as little as possible, as much as necessary.
That’s why I choose SailfishOS.
Maybe @yuanxinfang you should just buy and ship a One Plus 13 as a present to @Mister_Magister
.
Then he may eventually consider a port
.
Cause its also not like porting people have the budget to play with such expensive toys on their own, be realistic you are talking about a device costing 1000$.
First make the present to a developper, then hope for a port ![]()
not gonna happen, please don’t even suggest such thing as it would be considered borderline harassment xd
As to next gen phone i think… currently there’s nothing good and small, so maybe I’ll hold off until we get jolla 2 as IF it will be good i might use use it for calls.
In either case we just have to sit and wait for something decent to pop up
ok👍. Undertood. Sure. Well to any other willing dev then.
3G shutdown should have happened this week, but has been delayed a few days due to storms.
The Moto G75 has disappeared from the market here now, and is not listed by any carriers, suggesting to me that it also had volte issues. G56 is listed as compatible by the biggest carrier, and it’s available used. With Jolla opting for Mediatek again, perhaps the G56 should go back into contention.
Depressingly, of phones with local carrier support, and known to have worldwide volte support, and some non-google os option, I seem to be down to Google Pixel. Talk about having to swallow a turd garnished with vomit.
A mate has a Pixel 8 pro and the optical zoom telephoto is really, really good. So perhaps that wipes the vomit off the turd.
The Pixel 8 onward allegedly will have 7 years of updates, and a couple of non google androids to start from. So perhaps it is time to hold your nose, wash your mouth out with bleach and port to Pixel.
nah, dont buy the pixel/google shit
yeah no we ain’t going pixel
The only way to see a pixel device as a good one is probably by not using anything else in its category.
The device is riddled with bugs, heavily underpowered, insane overheating, so many missing features, and the camera can become garbage in a different situation with every new update.
And all of that while it has tailored software directly from Google. Remove that from the equation and you have the worst possible device to port and maintain sfos on.
What about the Nothing Phone 3? Is that a hard no? They don’t churn out a new phone every year which might be good for actually getting a new device for some time.

though @mal has been working on android 15/16 adaptation so there has been some progress since the post was created but it’s not ready yet iirc
The #1 problem is getting phones with the volte configs. Something with world wide volte settings would be good.
Back to G56
Which is Android 15…
But cheap, 3.5mm, sdcard.
Honestly I’m starting to consider G56 more and more, it’s inexpensive and has 3.5mm jack (already better than jolla phone 2 and iphone) AND microsd. You can get phone with 3.5mm or with microsd but both are rarity
Honestly, would you guys be fine with g56? Motorola Moto G56 - Full phone specifications
- Yes
- No
