Whatever the phone specs; or screen size.
Please include a screen protector plastic with the correct size for the screen.
Thanks!

How about some kind of recycled plastic/wood -composite for the back? at least it would give the phone unique look if nothing else.
I suggested something like the Kupilka composite waaay back, when speculating for a Jolla phone 2 (J2) that never came.
Materials need to be sturdy, hard wearing, and age somehow gracefully if possible. Noone wants a device that will look like shit in a couple of weeks.
BTW @Jolla if you want Industrial Design ideas i am willing to help (seriously).
True. …but people seem to hide their phones in covers these days.
It’s actually quite funny to observe how people react when I retrieve my nude* phone from the left leg pocket…
* Nude in the sense that it is nothing but the bare phone. No leather or fake-leather cover. No card holder. No external battery. No stylus. No bling-bling.
I second that, I have a bumper but I prefer to use it without. That why I asked for the materials, I prefer a non-glass back, any material over glass, even plastic
IMHO
The fingerprint sensor can be placed on the rear of the device or accessible through the display on the front. In both cases a centreline placement is preferred, allowing both right- and left-handed users equal functionality.
A combination of gesture and in-display fingerprint sensor could improve security…
Alternate functions could be linked to other icons.
I definitely want a side-mounted Xperia-style power button / fingerprint reader.
For those that use book-like cases it is the best placement.
ApB, I am using the Xperia XA2 plus with pleasure. Gestures are fine on it and my hands are not big, I am female, senior. I can imagine that big phones don’t fit well in pockets. Most women don’t have that problem: they carry handbags. But what is big nowadays? The C2 is big. Devices like Fairphone 6 or Volla 22 are not big. The aspect ratio of my Xperia 10 III is not ideal because it is so narrow that some apps cannot display texts properly. Every size has advantages and disadvantages and it’s hard to please everyone. That is why Apple offers small devices, bigger ones and tablets. But Jolla cannot do that.
Oh, the backside fingerprint button on XA2 was great.
Fingerprint works always on XA2 plus (back side), but on my 10 III it’s hit and miss.
There hasn’t been a Sailfish phone with an in-display fingerprint sensor yet…
Big is whats always been big. Something that doesn’t fit. The human hands have certain dimensions (range to be exact depending on various factors).
Ergonomics isn’t a word we just throw around. Its science and it helps from injury prevention to safety to comfort, to be more efficient etc.
An 8 inch phone would probably be regarded “big”…
:clears throat:
Well spoken. I stand corrected. …with a smile.
I am neutral on the topic as I don’t use the fingerprint sensor, but I am genuinely curious as why people seem to enjoy in-display sensor. The backside and side-mounted are clever because these are places where the fingers naturally go when holding the phone in one hand, and the topography makes them self-centering. The in-display obliges the user to guess where the sensor is located and very often people use the other hand, obliging them to operate the unlocking with two hands.
I often unlock the screen when phone is on table etc. Wouldn’t be possible if the fingerprint sensor is at back of the phone. I save two fingers from each hand so it doesn’t matter with which hand I am operating.
My 2 cents:
Rear mounted fingerprint scanner would be great, I really loved the one on the XA2. The one on the 10 iii sucks in comparison. The XA2 supports gestures with the fingerprint scanner! This is a feature I used a lot as it was very useful for precise positioning of the text cursor, the 10 iii lacks this feature entirely with it’s annoying tiny scanner surface.
The form factor of the 10 iii is decent but it is just too tall imo. It sticks out of some of my pockets and has fallen out on several occasions. I agree with others that something 10 iii sized but less tall would be nice.
