Jolla Phone update - Pre-orders shipping status and progress

Got my phone yesterday (ordered start of January), setup went smooth, and I am now enjoying setting up and learning. I really like both the looks and feel of both the OS and the phone. Size and quality is perfect  Quite impressed actually. Still, things to install, set up and tweak, things to learn. Also liked the screen protection install method btw. I have only had the ones where I had to push the air bubbles out with my fingers earlier, so this was much better :+1:

Congrats! Feel free to post any tips on setting it up for new comers…

Mine came with a screen protector attached! Was that just a peel off cover? Because I’ve left it on and it’s serving very well if so!

There were two layers of covers installed when new. If you install a real screen protector you have to remove them both. Some people who did not install a screen protector have left the second thin one on the phone. It might not last very long but our personal requirements vary. If I understand right you left both covers on and are happy with them.

I installed Jolla screen protector and also liked the installation method and the cover itself.

The accessory screen protectors Jolla sells at their store come with applicator case, that helps with alignment and applying the protector without leaving air bubbles in between the screen and protector. @Knottentott probably referred to this special applicator in his comment.

Yes, I did. I found it much easier to get the protector applied airtight with no bubbles than on regular ones you apply without the plastic box it came with. But reading here, if there were TWO layers of protection before I applied it then I have one layer beneath that since I removed one and thought that was it :joy: Anyways, it works well and looks good so I hope that does not create any problems later on.

The first layer, with the pull tab, is there only to protect the screen during assembly and transit, and under it, there is a factory installed screen protector made out of plastic. You are supposed to remove that if you install another screen protector.

If you get to well lit place, or try to reflect a light off the screen, and see U-shaped cut out around the selfie camera, then the factory screen protector is there :frowning:

Hehe yeah well.. It seems to work well with both  - but I can not actually know if the extra layer on top of the camera lens distorts or worsens anything. But I will leave it on, and order another! It is a typical “me” thing to just install things and not read any documentation first. I still remember when I bought my first monitor for the Amiga 1200 and I had just got it and started it up and thought it had a swivel base. I tried to turn it around and broke the support so I had to stack up with books from day one to use it

When the day comes, that you install a new screen protector, remember to make sure you remove both of the old protectors first, or you’ll end up the same place you started

At least the screen would be extremely well protected  :+1:

I ordered my Jolla phone in October batch. Is it going to be delivered in November or in December? It’s been a long wait.

TL;DR Batch 3 is nearly done: a few hundred phones are left and we’re sorting those out. Sep-I orders are next, then Sep-II and October orders. If your order still has an open balance, now is a good time to complete it so your phone can join the queue.

Hello all,

A short update on where Jolla Phone shipping stands. Many of you who ordered Sept-I, Sept-II or October batch have asked where your phone is. The answer is that your batch is next in line, and below is what that means for you.

DELIVERY STATUS

  • Batch 1 and Batch 2: delivered.

  • Batch 3: soon complete, a few hundred units to ship.

  • Jolla Phone (Sep-I 2026): next in line, starting by the end of October.

Jolla Phone (Sep-I 2026) shipping starts as soon as Batch 3 is out. Jolla Phone (Sep-II 2026) and October orders: after Sep-I.

To check your order, log in at https://commerce.jolla.com with the email address you ordered with. Fellow customers also keep a Community Shipping Tracker on the forum: Jolla Phone Community Shipping Tracker

ABOUT TRACKING

The shipping email goes out when your phone order is being fulfilled, this is how the platform we use works. Then we pack it and Posti scans it a little later, so the tracking page can stay empty for a few days. This is perfectly normal, no need to panic :slightly_smiling_face:

IF YOUR ORDER HAS AN OPEN BALANCE

Some orders still have an unpaid balance, and naturally we only ship phones that are paid in full. If yours is one of them, completing the payment now puts your phone in the shipping queue. If you have already paid in full, there is nothing to do. If you have changed your mind, the Withdrawal Form is here: Withdrawal form – Jolla Shop No questions asked.

Thank you for your patience. Every phone in the queue has one of your names on it, and we are getting through them as fast as we can.

Smooth sailing, and see you on the forum,

The Jolla Team

P.S. Tonight we are in Stockholm. Roadshow Day 2 Community Event starts at 19:00 at The Flying Horse, Odengatan 44. Sailors from Jolla Team will be there, it is open to everyone and no registration is needed: Roadshow: community meeting @Stockholm Oct 22

Hi, sorry for the cross posting. I think i’m looking eager for my Jolla as most of you. I’m in batch Sep II, paid fully end of July, but never heard of them again. My preorder number is 20520, my order number is 31585, my memory upgrade order is 32127. Paid this already too. Any idea about the time frame? Best regards from Munich - Axel

Jolla is about to start Sep I -batch soon (right after Batch #3 is done), so Sep II deliveries should start next month.
