Jolla Phone update - final payments status Batch 1, 2 and 3

Hi there,

There’s been questions in regards the final payment emails and status, so let’s try to pull all information, discussion and Q&A together to this topic.

Batches #1 and #2

(batch #3, please see below)

Starting on Friday March 27, we started to send out emails first to Batch #1 to complete the final payment. Initially we estimated the whole process for all batches 1, 2 and 3 to take a ~week but it has taken longer than expected - no reason to worry, just let us do it in the phase we can perform well.

One of the main reasons the process being extended is the overwhelming amount of emails we have received - we certainly admit that the Batch #1 email could have been more clear, and while all the information truly was there, it was a bit lengthy and required careful attention to read thru and follow. So we received a lot of emails, mostly about asking instructions, not seeing the discount code, how to apply the discount etc.

So, we improved the email for Batch #2. Things went considerably better but the constant flow to shop@jolla.com still shows we can do even better for Batch #3 - there is always room to improve, right

You may not see it in the first place but the personal discount code is there - we guarantee. Right in the email, on CAPITAL BOLD LETTERS

So, please bear with us with these and kindly pay attention whilst you’re finalizing your payment:

  • Please take your time and read the email throughout - from beginning to the end
  • Apply your personal pre-order discount code at the checkout – due to technical limitations it is NOT automatically applied
  • Add your favourite Jolla Phone accessories to your shopping cart before purchasing
  • If you have multiple Jolla Phone pre-orders, you’ll receive multiple emails for final payment (bear with us, no comments needed  ) We will refund any duplicate shipping costs
  • We do our utmost best to bundle your orders into one and we’ll refund duplicate shipping costs
  • If you have claimed (ordered) your exclusive Jolla Phone Day1 celebration ticket during the final payment, then you have a ticket – it’s a digital ticket – and no need to ask it by email

By now, we have sent all emails for Batch #1 and #2, except to those who have ordered with EU VAT ID (please see more below :backhand_index_pointing_down:).

If you belong to the Batch #1 or #2 we kindly remind you to check your email to complete your order. In case you have not received an email (and you are certain you belong to Batch #1 or #2) we kindly ask you to double-check the inbox for the email address you have used for your pre-order and check your spam folders too:

  • Please confirm you look for the same email address which you used while ordering. Your email has been sent to that email, and to that email only
  • kindly double check your spam folders and filters
  • if you ordered with EU VAT ID outside of Finland you have NOT received email and this is normal. Please read below :backhand_index_pointing_down:

If you still don’t find it, please send an email to shop@jolla.com with the following details:

  • provide us the same email address which you used while ordering
  • your order number
  • a proof of payment (of any kind)

Batch #3

For Batch #3, we will be sending emails starting next week. That means no one has received this email - keep calm, and carry on, as they say

EU VAT handling clarification

(non-EU, do not read :slightly_smiling_face:)

As we noted on our latest newsletter payment finalisation emails for the EU companies excluding Finland (i.e. orders including EU VAT ID) will be manually processed. You’ll get your final payment email later and you won’t miss any delivery schedule. If you fall into this category and you are also interested in Jolla Phone Day1 celebration ticket, we got you covered – don’t worry!

Handling these cases takes time. Don’t hold your breath, take a cup of coffee or tea. This is due to fact that reverse charge is not applied – we’re working on it.

If you have used EU VAT ID for the final payment, those need to be corrected manually. Meanwhile, please refrain from emailing to shop@jolla.com on this matter

Going forward

We encourage to post any questions on this matter to this topic, those often help others too, and also us to improve the communications for coming emails!

Together we will succeed to push this thru!

Thanks,
The Jolla Team

Do you have any timeframe for us with EU VAT ID? I have orders #10010 and #14068, so curious what the timeframe is - is it weeks, is it months?

I failed to secure a Day1 Ticket and would like to come. How do I proceed?

You could try to send an email to shop@jolla.com with a subject starting with “JollaPhoneDay1:”. In the email please share your order id, proof of payment and email address used upon payment.

There are delays in processing email as you may have understood from the post.

I‘m not sure in which batch my order is.

It only says „Jolla Phone Pre-order Voucher“.

Can you help me?

You can have mines, I most likely wont be able to attend

I’m in “foreign VAT company” category, proof

But I already received the “standard” Batch 1 email.

“You’ll get your final payment email later” probably reads to most like I’m supposed to get my first email “later”?

I’m expecting to get a second email and a new code then?

Wow, since the phone was announced on this forum, I would have thought that the first batch had been ordered by senior community members and Sailfish users, i.e. people that:

  • double check before before asking a question
  • always look for answers on community forums before bothering the support of a company, especially since they are supposed to know the existence of this forum (and Jolla’s situation)
  • have already placed an order on Internet in their life

But it looks like Jolla actually managed to sell to some average users

Hmm I received this one and I can’t see what people could possibly not understand
Now I’m a bit worried by the reaction of those people when they’ll discover that Sailfish OS is not a custom UI on top of Android

Look at the bright side: there will be tons of cheap lightly used Jolla 2 phones to buy.

It’s a little perplexing isn’t it…
That’s people for you

Personally, it’s going to cost me a lot more, but I honestly don’t care that much. I think a change is needed, and I want it. Also, when you said “Android UI,” I didn’t understand that part.

He was referring to other so called alternative operating systems like GrapheneOS / eOS / Lineage etc. which are still basically just android with slightly modified UI (=User Interface), stripped down Google bloatware, maybe some additional safety features etc. While SailfishOS is actually it’s own operating system, which isn’t based on android.

Is it possible to return if it doesn’t work in my country which is Canada? I feel like it will be a huge pain trying to sell it secondhand to a European if it won’t for me.

uh oh, new fear unlocked. your response now has me worried about folks who think this will be an android device. i envision hundreds of forum posts about android-specific things that are not SFOS-related, like ‘how do i get adb to work’, and ‘when will we get Android 17’ and ‘how do i configure RCS’ and ‘how to install magisk’

i now suspect that most people probably WILL think this is a custom android rom, since those rom vendors kinda advertise themselves in a similar way (de-google your phone! alternative to google android! etc, etc).

About seconhand sell, there has been many interest people from US, I would imagine it to be much easier to resell there in case you choose so.

I could be wrong here, but it does not look like you applied your VAT ID on the pre-order as it says EE VAT included.
Then Jolla does not know that you have a VAT ID. So you get the normal e-mail, and you are unlikely to get a second e-mail later.

Lol. Looks like my Jolla Account had my ancient email address, which at the time of order confirmation in Dec 2025 was forwarded to my current email address, but apparently in 2026 this forwarding has ceased to happen and I didn’t get the final payment email. I wish the order confirmation would have listed the email to which the final payment email will be sent so I maybe could have caught the error.

Now, someone please tell me which is the correct url where to change my contact information on my Jolla account because I can’t keep up with all the Jolla shopping sites. Clicking my username on shop.jolla.com does absolutely nothing, and on commerce.jolla.com the goddamn Shopify insist on hijacking the login process.

My number is about 13700. I am in batch#3. Ordered first week of february

From the Jolla Pre-order campain thread, I was able to grab a few timestamps (UTC or GMT+0) which may help those unsure of the Batch they’re in :

  • 2025-12-05 13:00 Batch #1 started (499 €, delivery starts beginning of July)
  • 2025-12-07 11:30 2000 reached (but batch #1 continues)
  • 2025-12-08 10:50 Batch #2 officially started (549 €, delivery starts 2–4 weeks after batch #1)
  • 2025-12-10 19:00 4700 reached (but still in batch #2)
  • 2025-12-13 12:00 Batch #3 officially started (579 €, delivery starts 3–6 weeks after batch #2)
  • 2025-02-28 21:55 Batch #3 closed (Finland uses GMT+2 until the last week-end of March, according to timeanddate.com)
  • 2026-02-28 September batch started (649 €, delivery starts in September, I guess)
  • 2026-03-16 September-II batch started (649 €, delivery starts end of September)

These timestamps are the ones from the posted answers (rounded down) so the real beginning might be even earlier.

Also, with an order number just over 9600 (ordered on the 15th of December), I’m already in batch #3.

I hope this will help reassure people out there.

Edit : tried to add more information about the various batches as well as production orders.
