It’s again very very strictly limited to 2000 units ![]()
Given that Sailfish OS does not currently support refresh rates above 60Hz (as someone here mentioned, as I’m not entirely up-to-date on recent news), I’m concerned that Jolla might simply postpone implementing this feature. They would likely feel no immediate pressure to support it—a decision not very far from other choices they’ve made (for example, opting for a second physical nano-SIM slot instead of an eSIM).
But I hope you’re right
Edit: I’m well aware that an eSIM is a much more complicated issue, but still…
Batch 2 is sold out!
As the sales seem to continue, very eagerly waiting to hear what you have in back pocket ![]()
Exactly. Something like the Xperia 10 IV/V. Would be perfect.
Or another color…?

Acording to interview of Jolla representative in finnish newspaper, “in order for the sales to be profitable, about 7000 phones need to be ordered and Jolla is reaching the target in good pace”
Let’s all hope the pace keeps up and the target is reached.

Cyan would really be nice…

Hi guys im just wondering, 2G, 3G and 4G has been used for a long time without any problems so far. Why do they all of a sudden need VOLTE? Could it be a hidden plan by big-tech to eliminate privacy focused mobile phones and operating systems? I personally think that they can use it to ban this and that phone from the communist system (sadly).
They need it to activate the chips they inoculated with fake COVID vaccines, so they can control you.
Without VoLTE, a phone must use 2G/3G for audio calls. And they want to get rid of these old standards/hardware.
Yes but in this new VolTe world they can simply choose what phones work and what phones do not work. it sounds strange to me that they can simply block phones from using the system. Could they block all Toyota cars from using the oil pumps for example?
I see you’re a conspiracy theorist too…
VoLTE is required by law in some countries in order to make emergency calls, and if it is not it will be in the near future. You cannot simply sell a phone without VoLTE today because the 2G/3G networks are being closed down in many parts of the world in favour of 4G/5G.
Operators want to close down the 2G/3G networks in order to free up frequencies for 4G/5G because it uses the available bandwidth much more efficient, including for voice calls.
Yes but i think its conspiracy facts to be honest. I just think Volte is too convenient for them to be a coincident hmm LOL, well nevermind i was just thinking out loud ![]()
Yes true, lets hope VoLTE will not be a problem for us. But i cant use my Xperia 10 III with Sailfish anymore because my carrier blocked it. Its strange that they can just pick and choose now what phones work on their system, it has never worked like that before.
They can do it already since at least 2G.
The difference is, that now is a cut. But nobody wants to pay for old systems. And: some chips etc. won’t be available anymore soon. Or too expensive.
4G without VoLTE means 4G frequencies are used for internet data, but 2G frequencies are used when in voice communication (for example the SFOS phone shows 4G icon in standby and then 2G whenever a voice communication happens). Operators must keep the 2G frequencies allocated for voice.
When VoLTE is mandated, then the 2G frequencies are not needed for voice anymore, and are re-assigned to additional 4G channels, improving connectivity.

Regarding VoLTE, there is the additional issue of VoLTE Emergency Calling: Even phones that support VoLTE for normal calls may not be able to handle emergency calls on 4G, as those use a separate system/standard. Australia went through this a year ago, and we in Sweden are dealing with it now as 2G/3G is being discarded: Many otherwise perfectly functional VoLTE 4G phones, some of them quite recent models, are now getting carrier blocked, as they did not implement VoLTE Emergency Calling properly or relied on 2G/3G for emergency calls - and carriers are legally required to ensure emergency calling works on all phones on their networks, so they just kick out those phones entirely rather than let them use normal calling minus emergency calls.
Authorities and carriers handled this poorly, apparently being unaware of the issue until close to the 2G/3G shutdown. My family had received numerous notifications over months that 2G/3G was on the way out, but that our specific phones would be fine as long as we made sure VoLTE was activated - and then two weeks ago one of our phones was notified it would be blocked within three days because of the emergency issue.
As far as I understand, in some cases phone manufacturers can technically fix VoLTE Emergency Calling with an OTA update, but the chances for this happening with older phones are slim.
