Or it will be “think of the children” or something like that. Standard authoritarian playbook.
That’s why it’s important to make as many things open source as we can, to be harder to control.
Imagine them trying to convince @rubdos to install a back door into Whisperfish ![]()

Will this bring major implications concerning daily usable Xperia 10IV/10V support ? ![]()
A 12" or bigger tablet, same hardware of the phone, with a cover and a detachable keyboard? ![]()
I bet for improved or more specs if it is completed a big third batch of pre-orders.
Hello @Ponipoika, I would certainly love to. However, there are more than 250 questions in our support channels so bare with us. We are dequeueing it as fast as we can. Thank you for your understanding and helping each other here in the forum.
How many units were sold of JP1, C1 and C2?
If specs are improved thanks to the number of phones sold, I hope we can get a headphone jack.
It’ll be the first SailfishOS phone I buy but I admit the uncertainty surrounding the jack made me hesitate.
Headphone jack is the spec I miss too.
Unfortunately, the VAT field from the cart page does not work (at least since December 9th). I was also unable to add the VAT number, so I replied to the order confirmation e-mail, to shop@jolla.com.
I hope they will reply in a reasonable time, so that I can obtain the updated company invoice.
What ever this might mean:
So yes, there will be batch #3 after the batch #2. And it will be something different - stay tuned
From today’s Sailfish Community News, 11th December 2025
I am so curious … (something different - maybe I need to place another preorder?)
There’s no uncertainty. It will not have a headphone jack.
This post makes me think that there is still a chance.
A headphone jack is not “something ambitious”. It is simply unfeasible given the constraints Jolla exists within.

“Up to 5 major OS upgrades” → say w0t? Does that mean 5 upgrades in 7 years? ![]()
Seems to be SailfishOS 5.0 → SailfishOS 10.0 (major.minor)
This phone looks amazing.
Does anyone know if this would still be available in two years time? I’m looking to hold onto my phone until software support ends, but I’m worried about missing out on the getting the new Jolla Phone ![]()
Ponipolka:
This is the second time that Jolla creates a linux phone ‘for everyone’. Just as some reviews say: ‘risen from the ashes’. In between Jolla implemented Sailfish on Sony devices. It’s courageous to start again.Yet it will take time before the aim of a serious alternative will be reached. Not everyone is in need for a new phone and this Jolla 2 first must have had a few reasonable reviews before new customers step up. Trust comes slowly. I think it would be wise to focus on parents and their children as potential users too: safety, security and privacy.

Probably Jolla doesn’t know this yet. Probably at least some second hand phones might be available but no guarantees. But safest might be to get one next year after they start to deliver
