Jolla Phone Pre-order campaign has started

Exactly. I also think, now that ai is being integrated to phones, that this is great time to highlight Jolla’s ideology of not collecting user data, security and freedom of choice. I think many people are a bit hesitant (and for a good reason) for AI being constantly running on their phone. For some people it would be ideal solution if they could isolate/control the ai on their phone. Just a thought.

Yes, I managed to enter this into the account one year ago for the full payment after the mind2 pre-order campaign. Which was a relief, since paying VAT on foreign VAT is not the funniest thing to do. No problem with it since then

Clarifying the question about batches, the preorder offer has been adjusted:

  • Full price: 549 € (incl. your local VAT) for Batch #2. Normal price 599 € - 699 €
  • SOLD OUT: Batch #1 (499 €) sold out in less than 48 hours
Estimated delivery: After Batch #1 fully delivered (Batch #1 delivery estimated by end of 1H/2026)

So what about people who pre-ordered the phone over the weekend with the understanding they’re ordering the phone for 499 but the number of pre-orders was already a little over 2k?

Thank you for your question. They are part of batch #1 (499 €).

Thank you.
I guess you’ve been as surprised as all of us by the actual demand

The page should show how many were in the batch one and how many in the second batch. The price increase will have slight negative effect. Any way to negate this with stretch goals? 5000 then … 10000 then. Let’s hype this thing!

Speaking as someone who has been sued multiple times for the dumbest things: if you don’t complete a purchase for some reason, the store sends you a reminder with a link that takes you straight to the checkout page, showing only the voucher price, possibly withholding the changes to batch number or final product price.

Depending on which batch/price they then end up with, that could also create some confusion, so it might be another small thing to watch out for.

Is it possible to remove the obligatory phone number from the order form? I’ve written already an email, but didn’t get an answer. I would’ve ordered the first batch otherwise already.

Providing a telephone number was optional and not necessary.

And again: For me it says: https://imgur.com/a/YyZtoKe (I posted this already earlier)

Not optional.

According to the press release by Jolla (https://jolla.com/content/uploads/2025/12/Jolla_Phone_Press_Release_8-12-2025_FINAL_EN.pdf?x26973), the phone will be assembled, flashed and QC:d in Salo, Finland (the same city they used to make Nokia phones back in the days).

There is still a phone factory in Finland existing? Wow! I would have never thought that. Thats pretty cool, that its even assembled in Europe!

The more I look at the specs of the phone, the more similarities with Motorola Edge 50 Neo / Motorola ThinkPhone 25 I see.

Looks like same screen, same ram/rom config, main and ultrawide cameras look the same… So the question is - will the SoC be a Dimensity 7300 or something more powerful?

They also assembled the Mind2 AI -computers there. As far as I know, one of the Jolla’s anchor investor owns the old Nokia factory area, so it might be the reason or the cause for why they chose to do it there.

Is the new phone likely to support Bluetooth devices like Suunto Watch etc ? I have pre-ordered it, if for no other reason then just for the nostalgy. I had the J1 and all the others until now. Currently I have C2 running.

It would be great for clarification to show in the store how many batch 1 was sold and how many of batch 2 has been sold. As other said, when there is price difference it would make it more transparent. And congratulations! Stunning looking device <3

2789! Campains is still going strong!

@Jolla Front page looks nice and I like the “Meet the independent European Do It Together Linux phone” text. Maybe also add a “pre-order now” button to front page right next to the image on top. Even though pressing the image takes to the pre-order page. For me it would be a lot clearer with the button.

It sounds way worse than it is. A brand disappearing doesn’t necessarily mean less supply.

Crucial RAM sticks are rare nowadays, and they are seldom overclocked enthusiast’s sticks like you would find in the consumer business. Now Micron won’t supply users anymore, with their consumer brand disappearing/

Samsung also doesn’t supply users. SK Hynix doesn’t supply users. Still, they supply businesses, so that their RAM chips end up on other brand’s sticks for consumer OEM and DIY machines. There is no problem with Micron going the same route.
Micron going to focus more on HBM, and shifting their focus away from DDR, that is more worrisome, but that has been going on for a far longer time now, and would have it’s effect with or without Crucial disappearing.
