Jolla Phone 2026 for everyday use in Italy

Hi all,

I’was an owner of N9 and Jolla Phone (first edition).

Than I switched to a Samsung phone to have a full support mainly for bank app and SPID app.

Now my Samsung is near to die so I’m evaluating a return to Sailfish OS.

Are there anyone using Jolla as first main phone in Italy?

I need confirmation for compatibility at least with:

  • IO App
  • CieID App
  • Unicredit bank app
  • Fideuram Alfabeto App
  • Fineco App
  • Intesa San Paolo App
  • Satispay App

Hi Luca, i know all your listed apps. You need to buy a Sailfish Os license and use Android App Support (AAS) to download and use those Apps. Unfortunately they work only with AAS because there are no native Jolla apps compatible. I suggest you to use a Sony Xperia 10 III as “daily driver” for a while and next step you could buy the new J2 phone.

I know I need App Support.
I think it will take a while for Italian government to develop a Sailfish native app for IO and CieID :slight_smile: .

I will give a try to Xperia XA2 I already own.

Anyway it would be great to know someone confirming he’s using Sailfish with those apps and what are the main issues he is facing.

I checked the thread

and I also gave a contribution for Fineco.

The main issue I can see with the app I mentioned is the missing use of biometrics for login.

Every app requires you to enter the password for every login. It’s quite impossible to remember dozens of passwords for every day usage.

You shouldn’t. Use ownKeepass! It’s a KeePass client för Sailfish OS.

No, initial unlock is with complete password and reunlock after timeout is with first three characters

Io is known not to work yet on sailfish

Don’t know for the others, but maybe the italian group on telegram could help?

Which is a bad idea anyway. It can be enough that you are asleep and somebody has access to your phone…
