Jolla phone 1 in demo mode – any ideas?

Recently I bought the first Jolla Phone on our local marketplace for a very low price – picked up immediately since I can always use it for parts with my another Jolla phone 1.

It’s on the SFOS 1, but unfortunately bootloader is pin locked (similarly to what these guys have: topic 1, topic 2), so I can’t flash it in recovery mode.

The phone never asks for a password, but it has it set in settings (so I can’t enable developer mode). Oddly enough, it looks like the system is in some kind of a demo mode: non-existent “notifications” reappear after they are cleared, while on the lock screen demo video is playing automatically after a minute or so:

If I understand correctly, there’s no way to unlock this thing, but I wonder whether it was stolen from Jolla in 2013 or something?

Send it back to Jolla for a big fat discount for a C2 or the new flagship phone :wink:

P.S.: This J1 is very beautiful and aesthetic, imho exactly the kind a phone should be. Especially I mean screen ratio.

Edit: and the case shape and all the elegance!

Well, I already own C2 and also pre-ordered the Jolla phone 2, so I guess it’s too late to ask for a discount

I think the phone in demo mode might be even more impressive than just a regular Jolla Phone.

Don’t know if @Jolla ever kept track of the IMEI’s of the demo devices, but if they did and they send you a PM to ask for the IMEI code, that might lead to a tip.
