Jolla C2 first time use instructions

The conf.wizard let me set date and time, but when it started to explain how to swipe from the side of the screen, there was little I could do with a keyboard and mouse. I rebooted the phone and the touch screen is responsive again. No wizard, but I’m a long term SailfishOS user so I guess that’s fine

Just got my C2 & went through initial setup fine.

Rebooted to pull the SD card from my XA2 to grab the backup & transfer contacts etc but now its sat at the security prompt screen. Entering the code just leaves it sitting with the spinning icon. It’s been like that for over an hour now. Any help/ideas?

hi r-kid,
Sounds like an odd problem. You could try to reboot by pressing power long and then booting again by pressing power.

One vibra effect is enough when shuting down.

Thanks for the suggestion, but another reboot gives the same result.:frowning:

How long was your password ?

It was only 6 digits. I’ve spoke to support & in the end it was suggested to reflash the device. Which resolved the issue & I’ve been using it perfectly since.

Hi, I recived my C2 yesterday. On first boot, setting a 7 digit security code and do the wizzard (languaje set to Spanish) and boot correctly but the wlan didn’t work. I restarted the phone and it started again the wizzard. After another reboot the phone ask for the security code and didn’t boot after validating the correct code, stay with the blue circle moving. What can I do?

Try fastboot flashing as described in Fastboot flashing of Jolla C2

Thanks to you and to @lightstar for your reply.

Can I try to do the flasboot and, if it didn’t work, contact with the technical support?

Sure. Did you try some defaults 0000, 00000, 1234, 12345, …

From the description it seems, the code is validated but the wait circle is spinning indefinetly. Sadly my second C2 I got in April had the same issue, despite being checked and preconfigured by Jolla. I had to fastboot flash and since then it works fine.

Solved all the problems (no WLAN, spinning circle of death) for me. Thank you very much.

I did exactly as described here. I then looked around on my mobile phone to see what was available. Then I changed the language in the settings to my national language. This restarted the mobile phone. It worked. There was no Wi-Fi, so I restarted the mobile phone once. Now the PIN is being requested again. I enter it and then the mobile phone gets stuck here with an endless circular animation. So it’s the same as many other people have described here?

It’s a shame, really, because you want to support a project – you spend money – and then this happens?

Question: What now? Where can I find instructions on the website on how to get out of this situation?

Make sure that your WiFi settings are compatible. I guess reflash is the optimal way out.

Just like here… the exact same thing happened to me.

Okay, I reflashed the mobile phone as described above. After that, the setup worked without any problems, including German language selection and even Wi-Fi connection (which didn’t work before).

Perhaps the latest firmware/OS should be installed before the mobile phone is delivered?
