My C2 also change ambiences as it will. Stange.
Today I got the answer via zendesk: âthe next OS release 5.0.0.28 exists and is being tested. However, it does not fix the issue with the 4G phone calls (whereas 2G and 3G do work). We keep fixing the issues.â
Honestly I should say using my phone on 2G (3G has been out of order in Hungary) is not an option for meâŚ
I had the same answer, I will see what this version fixes, if mine still acts erratic around WiFi Iâm afraid Itâll be heading back to Finland in exchange of my money backâŚ
Iâve added my thoughts about the C2 in the Forum , here.
unfortunately i encountered some problems after the first start. system installed and updated perfectly, howeverâŚaurora store does not work, as well as f-droid. i canât set up nfc and unlock with the fingerprint and not even restore the phone to factory conditions. can someone help me? Thank u
i am sure, all this problems will be fixed in the next month with new sw versions.
but till there, i am affraid c2 cant be used as a daily driver.
Aurora and f-droid work ok for me, try to restart them, maybe restart app-support? I am not sure C2 has enough h/w for nfc or fingerprint functionality unfortunately ;-(
You updated to 5.0.0.21?
sure, update done and I tried to restart Aurora, F-droid and app-support too
If you install f-droid from https://f-droid.org/ it works - as opposed to installing it from the Jolla store. With F-Droid, you can search and install Aurora.
That worked for me
C2 has no fingerprint reader
unfortunately it doesnât workâŚalways same error, it says there is no internet connection, but in reality it is not so⌠the browser works correctly. the same problem in the system update tool, "no internet connecti9nâŚsuggestions?
Is there any estimate for the 4g calls fix?
Thanks in advance!
the package has not yet been sent to the testers so I would say not quite there yet! Likely several weeks before it reaches a public release
So in the meantime someone here can create a daemon who switched to 4G when surfing the web and switch back to 3G when no more high bandwidth is needed.
For me personally, Jolla C2 is not ready as a daily driver. I will still use my Xperia 10 III until the moment, when 4G Internet and Voice calls are working in the 4G Network. Until than i will have a Linux Toy without SIM-Cards, where i can without any stress transfer all my data, install all the apps i need, set anything up etc. And in 1-2 month switch the SIM-Cards, when its ready. Nothing simple as this
A little bit i donât understand the people who buy a Jolla Community device with a beta state os and then complain, that its not ready for the daily usage.
What for estimate time you are asking for? Nobody would give you any estimate time. Because when Jolla say, its estimated in 2 Month, you will in 3 month say: âYou promised me in 2 month 4G is readyâ.
Its ready, when its ready, just keep calm. You have no other daily driver, which works with 4G?
I go all-in and use it as daily driver which works really good for me. Even Websurfing with 2.5G (My Carrier Blau.de has shutdown the 3G-Network) is working and fast enough for the most Services like native Fahrplan-App, this Forum and some other News-Websites. And switching between 4G for fast Surfing and 3G-Setting is performed in 2 seconds, so no worry until the arrive of VoLTE.
If you can mange it - great, than you are geeky enough to use beta state os as a daily driver! Living on the bleeding edge! (I am a bit of the same sort). My daily driver, Xperia 10 III is also C-Beta Testing device. Sometimes, my wife complains, she cant reach me - i say, or sorry, i installed latest update, and calls are not working anymore
Freedom and control have their price. Thatâs why we are here.
That is probably a clear advantage, for many men.
No offence, ladyâs of this forum.
The same here. Canât connect to WiFi, but was able to connect through hotspot.
