Jolla C2 first time use instructions

Thank you. Hopefulle there is restore too. I will look that.

I had very big difficulties to load my messages when I came to Sailfish world from dropbox and I did give up. I try now to backup to sd card and see how to restore.

Thanks again. Backup and restore was very easy. Only apps didn’t copied and android storage. I have to do those manually.

Hello, I had to buy one

Yes, I looked there too, but nothing, but that’s not my biggest problem.

Thanks, but I don’t want to watch videos on this platform. I prefer tools driven by the ethics of free and decentralized softwares such as Peertube or others.

I can see why and thought about that too, since I am trying to stay away from Google as much as possible, but the problem is: If I stay away from there, only the people in our bubble will see it, which already use SFOS. I would like others to join us here, not only re-ensure people who already are here.

But to cut it short: There was a black cardboard inlet in which there is not much to find but if you open it up, in there I found the sim card clip.

Best regards

Hi guys,

I opened a Zendesk ticket on October 31st! Has anyone gotten a response? How long does it usually take for them to respond?

They should respond much more quicker, I got answer after two days.

thanks for your feedback, I’m very sad (and a little angry!) that they haven’t answered me yet

This is something Jolla folk should think about in terms of how they operate now.

When you just downloaded the free version of SFOS, or even if you pay a one-off fee for a Sailfish X license, user expectations of proper and timely support probably aren’t that high (to quote another poster’s view here that Jolla are “just a bunch of well-intentioned Finnish dudes” doing the best they can with limited resources) - in other words don’t complain and just accept that it is what it is.

But now, and initially with the C2, you have customers who have bought a complete product (phone & software) and who pay a regular subscription for the support of their device - so naturally their expectations of proper and timely support are now much higher, and rightly so. If people now pay a subscription but get no better service over the previous situation then why would they bother to continue to pay in the future?

I had the same type of problem and also opened a request on the zendesk of which no return for the moment.
Is there a key combination (ignition and volume) to access a recovery mode or something else?

As I said in response to @jojomen I looked there too, but nothing

Beyond any doubt C2 needs a factory reset button in Settings for the future. I do not own a C2 but reading this thread leads me to the conclusion that C2 doesn’t have a factory reset button at the moment.

Seem a bit like a problem I had, except that I could download the update once but the installation failed and broke something. After that the phone announced that there is an update available, but when trying to initiate download, operation just time out with connection error.

I put one in the day after you, still haven’t heard back yet.

Hi Folks, I wonder as I’m reading your writings in this topic. I have the C2 fully charged before switching it on first time. I had no problems with WiFi connection, changed the language to Hungarian, entered the security code, found the needl, inserted the SIM-card and tried to make an ordinary phone-call. Outgoing calls, 4G mobile-data connection are OK, but I do not see or hear anything in case of incoming calls. While the caller hears the ringing tone as usual. There is no entry in calling list as well. If I place back the SIM into my old phone, it operates normally.
Has anybody got the same experience with C2? What could be the reason/how could I fix it?

Have you tried to switch to 2G or 3G in the Network Settings. Jolla C2 has Problems with 4G calls atm.

Yes I have a similiar experience in Germany. Now I can use the phone for calling and mobile data just with the 2G option in the settings for mobile internet. 3G and 4G are not working properky, there you can have mobile data and you can just call out, but incoming calls are not possible. Even ringing tones for calling and alarms are not working regulary, just sometimes and I configured and changed different ambiences

But I must confess that web surfing on 2G is in some way in Germany possible just with Jolla and of course the C2, where on Apple iOS or Google Android with 2G just phine calling is working, I can chat via Telegram or get and respond Mails or even how I mentioned googling or Discord Web are working very fine and so you don’t need 4G and so I can use bow my C2 indeed somehow as a daily driver
