sure, update done and I tried to restart Aurora, F-droid and app-support too
If you install f-droid from https://f-droid.org/ it works - as opposed to installing it from the Jolla store. With F-Droid, you can search and install Aurora.
That worked for me
C2 has no fingerprint reader
unfortunately it doesn’t work…always same error, it says there is no internet connection, but in reality it is not so… the browser works correctly. the same problem in the system update tool, "no internet connecti9n…suggestions?
Is there any estimate for the 4g calls fix?
Thanks in advance!
the package has not yet been sent to the testers so I would say not quite there yet! Likely several weeks before it reaches a public release
So in the meantime someone here can create a daemon who switched to 4G when surfing the web and switch back to 3G when no more high bandwidth is needed.
For me personally, Jolla C2 is not ready as a daily driver. I will still use my Xperia 10 III until the moment, when 4G Internet and Voice calls are working in the 4G Network. Until than i will have a Linux Toy without SIM-Cards, where i can without any stress transfer all my data, install all the apps i need, set anything up etc. And in 1-2 month switch the SIM-Cards, when its ready. Nothing simple as this
A little bit i don’t understand the people who buy a Jolla Community device with a beta state os and then complain, that its not ready for the daily usage.
What for estimate time you are asking for? Nobody would give you any estimate time. Because when Jolla say, its estimated in 2 Month, you will in 3 month say: “You promised me in 2 month 4G is ready”.
Its ready, when its ready, just keep calm. You have no other daily driver, which works with 4G?
I go all-in and use it as daily driver which works really good for me. Even Websurfing with 2.5G (My Carrier Blau.de has shutdown the 3G-Network) is working and fast enough for the most Services like native Fahrplan-App, this Forum and some other News-Websites. And switching between 4G for fast Surfing and 3G-Setting is performed in 2 seconds, so no worry until the arrive of VoLTE.
If you can mange it - great, than you are geeky enough to use beta state os as a daily driver! Living on the bleeding edge! (I am a bit of the same sort). My daily driver, Xperia 10 III is also C-Beta Testing device. Sometimes, my wife complains, she cant reach me - i say, or sorry, i installed latest update, and calls are not working anymore
Freedom and control have their price. That’s why we are here.
That is probably a clear advantage, for many men.
No offence, lady’s of this forum.
The same here. Can’t connect to WiFi, but was able to connect through hotspot.
exactly! but wifi connection works! I can use browser and Jolla store for example…there seems to be problems with some apps…but I don’t know why…I also tried to restart wi-fi and app-support too…
How did you install mce tools? For me when I run
pkcon-install mce-tools
it says package is not found
It should be already installed.
Well, apparently not, since when I enter any command, say
mcetool --help
terminal says mce is not found
It’s just mce if you want to run it from CLI. Another option is if you tap 5 times in version of SFOS in Settings.
You say it’s just mce, but earlier in this thread you shared this command:
mcetool --set-low-power-mode=enabled
I want to try double tap on my C2, but CLI says mcetool: not found for this command and unrecognized option for
mce --set-low-power-mode=enabled
I found in the terminal that there is a mc-tool and mce installed … so two different commands and programs … maybe you can go with mc-tool …
Solved this, thanks to old thread here.
Had a problem installing mce tool on my Sony 10 III SFOS 4.6, but executing this command first helped me:
pkcon install mce-tests
Terminal asked for my password to install some components, after that this command worked fine:
pkcon install mce-tools
On my C2, however, mce-tools installed without errors right away
