New versions didn’t change much. The self check gives somewhat shorter list of options with some that can’t be activated.
very weird, but i really did the same and it worked for me.
what else i would try: remove all the microg apps, install them again. keep an eye on installing the highest versions.
give them all the needed permissions by tapping multiple times on every point in the selfcheck.
i try to post my permissions screenshots tomorrow
I had the same issue, and followed aspergerguy’s suggestions, after that mine worked.
Please pay attention to the description in the Jolla guide ( Removing Android AppSupport | Sailfish OS Documentation ) for clean removal of appsupport, you need to remove f-droid, Aurora and Here before removing and reinstalling appsupport, otherwise appsupport won’t be completely removed.
To be sure everything was removed I also did the “brutal way” following the mentioned Jolla guide.
Obviously you also need to remove the installed versions of MicroG.
After reinstalling appsupport I installed F-droid, added the MicroG repo and installed the MicroG apps. Now I was able to tick all boxes in the Self-check, and Signature Spoofing Checker turned green.
However I still have issues with several android apps which complains there is no play services, so even though MicroG appears to be working some apps do not work with MicroG on the C2, they work fine on my XA2, only one of the are also having problems on my 10iii.
It is a bit annoying as some of the apps not working are Panasonic comfort cloud which I need for my heatpump, also Easypark and Parkone parking apps, which are badly needed i Copenhagen does not work. And obviously public ID-apps still complains the the phone is rooted and jailbroken.
In my case it looks like this.
i can remove app support in a clean and brute way once again and install from the scratch but why doing the same thing all over again should give a different result?
and how to remove microg files that dont have an icon?
I confirm that it is necessary to remove app support in a clean and brute way as was mentioned earlier and install from the beginning. Now i can activate almost all boxes, thanks.
Cool that you solved it. Something went wrong right in the beginning…
Almost all, what checkbox is still not able to activate? I had also one nasty checkbox which needed to dive deep into permissions. afterwards it was also activated…
Ahaa… I forgot to remove Aurora before whole installation process. Cool, I have to try again…
Maybe :
Settings within Sailfish: Android App Support: tap on Android Version multiple times and repeatedly until the Android settings menu opens
in the Android settings: tap location, then location access by apps, find Micro-G Services
activate “Always access” for Micro-G.
It was probably only on “While using the app”
in back to the Micro-G app with your missing checkbox: Now Micro-G has Android permission to always access GPS location, now you maybe / hopefully can activate the missing checkbox in the Micro-G self test settings for permanent background accessing the location.
Thank you this worked!
In my case it also works now. Thanks. What about notifications? It has also something to do with adroid settings?
Enable it in Cloud Messagning part of MicroG Settings
It says that I have to turn on device registering first. Is it necessary? If those notifications are optional I can live without them.
Yeah, push relies on googol servers so you basically are as tracked as with opengapps or similar then (at least ‘secure’ messengers like signal/matrix stopped sending content in the push notifications nowadays and are only sending pings for main app to dl content, that was a funny security hole for years, EDIT: but trust authority, all these security audits can’tbe wrong: Overview of third-party security audits - Wiki - Signal Community kek)
My understanding of such niuances is close to zero but would like to know if leaving the box unchecked could cause any troubles with other apps anyhow?
Nah, you just won’t get notifications from IM apps as they happen, but only every 15-30mins depending on how often the app checks
Did you get the Lidl Plus app going? In my case there is the same problem .microg is installed.
