yes, ít is very disappointing.
Of course, it may be way more difficult than we think it is, yet at least some progress update on this topic would be nice after the weeks the new blob is now out there. But that’s the same old story.
I bought my Xperia 10 V 8GB RAM last summer. It was the last new device on ebay with a shipment to Germany. The last months the device will be not used or very occasionally (my second sim card). Something is going wrong. When Sony can not publish valid kernel modules, should Jolla prefer an another vendor - a lot of smartphones will be supported by the community and LineageOS.
Or the company has no knowledge to develop SFOS for Sony.
I like SFOS and Xperia 10 V DualSIM is a nice device but that waiting is like wasting our time and hope.
It’s very disappointing.
For example: Spring 2025 - Jolla will publish official comercial version of SFOS for both “new” Xperias. Nobody will can get a new device because it is EndOfLife - no new manufactured devices this year. It’s a joke and not a right customer marketing
Maybe in case of the 10 IV and V they should have sticked with Android 13 blobs, much more polished/finished. In such case, quite possibly we could have had a fully working 10 IV / V SFOS release for months. I’m not sure what benefits result from using Android 14 instead if even the kernel version seems to be the same.
There is a Lineage 20 port for the 10 IV (stock aosp 13 based, not sodp) which faces none of the issues we’re dealing with aside from fast charging being unavailable. If SFOS was based on A13 it stands to reason it would manage the same functionality, no?
if I have installed SFOS on Xperia 10 V with given Android blobs should I have to re-flash everything from scratch when official support comes in and there are newer Android files or it could update itself?
The one on XDA or you know about some newer port for 10 IV?
As far I understand right:
You’ll only flash only blobs *). After that you’ll just update the SFOS 4.6.0.15 to SFOS 5 as OTA. But things can be more complicated of course outside my understanding. Or vise versa.
*) fastboot flash oem_a SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_14_5.4_v?a_zambezi.img
yep, the OTA part is clear but what about if there is new blob? should I flash it and reinstall SFOS on top again or somehow I can keep my SFOS installation? Pictures, etc…
You do not have to reinstall SFOS, you can keep everything.
What’s the support for WPA3 Wifi Networks at the moment is it just not working on the Xperia 10V or in general on Sailfish OS?
As far as I know, it is in general not supported on SailfishOS

Thanks for the Info i will ask about it in the next Community meeting.
Hi, guys!
Jolla promised 10 IV and 10 V Sailfish OS for August 2024 as well as working Jolla C2 and non of this is happening. Also no update for the 10 III or XA2 for looooong time.
Isn’t it possible for Jolla to get info on the upcoming Xperia 10 VII from Sony and as soon as Sony release it we get (WORKING)Sailfish OS for it?
What answer do you expect from the community?
Why don’t you drop Sony a line?
I’m just puzzled.
Either Jolla business model is broken or their engineers can’t maintain what they got gifted from Nokia flawless N9 project.
https://blog.jolla.com/ is also not maintained so I was just looking for an answer here because almost 2 year old Xperia 10V is supposedly the newest “supported” device. Thats all.
Jolla can’t do much before the phone enters the Xperia Open Devices program and the AOSP blobs becomes available.
I would be interested in hearing the answer, could you maybe post it in the mentioned WPA3-thread then?
I can’t post them there because the thread for that is locked.
Oh right. Well then I guess you can post it here
