Feedback on Jolla C2

For example the ‘top bar’ of the home screen has become too wide to accommodate enough space under the notch to display the time.

So my idea is to display the time like:

Instead of HH:MM under the Notch, show it like this:

HH NOTCH MM

Maybe someone can do a patch if Jolla doesn’t want to change it

HH:MM is an acceptable format to display time, HH NOTCH MM is not. That notch is the equivalent of having a couple of thousand dead pixels (e.g. 40x50) at the top centre of the screen.

My C2 battery went to 10%, after that very very soon the battery was totally empty. Too soon I think.

The initial aluggishness could be while AppSupport is starting. Takes about 2 minutes on an otherwise idle C2

Anyone having troubles with identifying or detecting Sim cards and network?
Mine detected Sim card and connected to network (3g not 4g) and could make calls and sms. But suddenly it can’t.
It asks for Sim pin on startup, but no network connection and the Sim page is empty in settings.

I had a sort of similar issue when I switched from 4G to 3G. In my case the mobile interface had gone and that caused some other issues like spinning circles etc. Reboot was failing to fix the issue, I took out the sim card restarted the phone, turned it off again put the sim card back and start the phone.

IIRC I had such issues but rarely.

On C2 I have to disable and reenable SIM on every startup otherwise is not detected properly.

Yesterday I lost ability to send SMS after setup first Andy app and some native ones. Frustrating after two weeks pretty satisfying use as a daily driver.

Received my phone three days ago (38% battery).
Charged to 100% before setting up.

Got through first boot, setup and update to 5.0.0.21 without problems.
Because my XPerias and my Volla 22 had high battery drainage (even in standby) when connected to WLAN, I did only install the recommended apps at initial setup (including Android support) and only used phone calls/SMS for the first three days.

No problems experienced yet.
Phone calls/SMS worked fine.
Battery is still at 57% after three days of usage.

Configured mail-account 2 hours ago. Still no significantly higher drainage.
So: Everythings fine until now :slightly_smiling_face:

Do you have Aurora Store working? In my case I can`t install any app, I get ‘invalid apk error’ all the time.

Has anybody allready gotten back his retuned C2 from Jolla?

I have.
I have installed few apps I used to use only in my android phone and atm they seem to be working. Also few apps I have uninstalled because they didn’t work the way I thought they would.

Yes, @NikosAlexandris has (already for a while)

How long took it before you got it back? And is it working good this time?

Mine have just arrived at Tampere, sent one week ago, yesterday.
Looks like you have to be very patient.

Sorry i asked it to the wrong person. I have to ask @NikosAlexandris

Oke thank you! I will wait

NikosAlexandris didn’t get the same phone back. He got a new one sent to him, long before the original one arrived to Jolla.
He’s the one and only exception, if you ask me.

Nice to see that it works fine for you,

I received the C2 this morning and spend some time setting it up.
If this is what the community deserves then I’m wondering what we did wrong

I have the original Jolla phone somewhere and the main difference between the 2 devices is that the og Jolla phone was a complete product, being held back by the hardware. The C2 is held back by hardware and software, but this is what we deserve.

I’m trying to find out how to return the phone. Spending money on this was just not worth it.

The original phone was also held back by software, check out the release notes of the first five releases. The OS is much more matured (but still contans bugs).
