App not proceeding due to Lock screen check

OS VERSION: Tampella 5.0.68
HARDWARE: Xperia 10 V
UI LANGUAGE: German
REGRESSION: Unknwon

DESCRIPTION:

When using some android apps (like Danske ID app), the app requires the user to set a lock screen.

This used not to be necessary on previous versions, however, now it is (and previous versions stopped working).

PRECONDITIONS:

Some Android ID app installed (like DanskeID for example)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Launch DanskeID

EXPECTED RESULT:

The app lets you enter the pincode to unlock it
ACTUAL RESULT:

The app shows a popup requiring you to “set a lock screen for your own safety” (haha)

How would an app check for such functionality? Can it be mocked with some android service?

Why create a duplicate bug report when you know one exists?

Its not the same bug. The cause might be the same, tho. But who knows.

I see absolutely nothing substantially different between your bug report and the linked one. What makes you think it is different?

edit: i could also reply with a quote from a famous movie (leaving the guesswork for the name of it to the reader): “this is my bug report. There is many bug reports like this one; but this one is mine!”
