REPRODUCIBILITY (% or how often): 100%

HARDWARE (XA2, X10, X10 II, …): X10 II
UI LANGUAGE: Finnish
REGRESSION: (compared to previous public release: Yes, No, ?): Yes
DESCRIPTION:
Many (all?) Android apps render their frames to the screen in almost correct order, resulting in very weird choppy and jerky user experience, even though the frame rate is high.
PRECONDITIONS:
- Install e.g. Firefox, Vivaldi, Here WeGo
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- Firefox: Start scrolling a long web page (flick and let it scroll until it stops)
- Here WeGo: start navigating to an address
EXPECTED RESULT:
- Smooth screen updates
ACTUAL RESULT:
- Oddly jerky screen updates, with high framerate still
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Judging by the web page scrolling, it looks like some frames get rendered in incorrect order. It’s not a showstopper, but it really brings the user experience down.
This is easy to see once you know what to look for, but I’ll try to get a friend with a fancy Android phone with slow motion capabilities help me out.
